Ordered one just to give it a go. Once I got past the idea that 'uh, can't be Nautica, Nautica's a submarine, not a bike,' then I actually saw the possibility ^^ She'd wind up a lot like a hovercraft instead, but I can see it.
@@zmbi.orionpedia I didn't even know there were submarines on Cybertron until learning about Nautica. Far as I was aware, Cybertron hadn't any water (or other navigable liquid) anywhere near its metal surface, making submarines kinda pointless. You know, since the actual planet's surface, along with anything organic is in fact many hundreds of miles down. But then again, as the 'Sea of Rust' is a thing, there must be large amounts of moisture somewhere, since rust is a very specific kind of corrosion.
For me, Legacy Prime really missed the mark. I feel like for most people, when they think of Transformers Prime, they think of the slick, slender designs of the Transformers. It's a very clean yet sharp aesthetic that, at the time, was very eye-catching for a tf show. (Remember, TF Animated just came out before). It was a nice tonned down movie aesthetic that really worked. So when Hasbro announced G1-ifyed redesigns for the TF Prime cast, it really felt like a lot of the initial personality of the Transformers Prime designs were lost in the homogenization of the wider Transformers design aesthetic. It's a shame, really.
I had fallen off the TF franchise by the time these figures were a thing (tho, did start getting back into it last year), but I grew up on TF Prime as it started airing when I was 8 I can only imagine the disappointment with these - while these designs aren't inherently bad imo, for being such a departure of Prime's aesthetic, and being the only new Prime figures in a long while, even I'd be annoyed they're not the designs we know and love, and I usually accept change like this
I was very fortunate to have a first edition arcee, and she's my favorite figure. I have many pleasant memories watching this show as a kid and I love how well they brought the character to life both on the screen and in action figure form
Difference between First Edition and APC Toys Arcee is that APC are also kinda upscales. FE is standard Deluxe for the time, standing more like the size of an old Generations figure in comparison instead of being around small Voyager hieght
Didn’t pick up arcee or knockout but I can say I absolutely love wreckers bulkhead. I still have my prime arcee and knockout and love the figures so that may have something to do with it. Prime soundwave is still one of my favorite transformers figures of all time.
In all honesty I've never liked the FE Arcee mold, I'd have it just for the sake of the novelty, the one I really like I'd the PRID one, looks SO much better and articulates better, it's very underrated
Agreed!!! I have two RID Arcee's (one I bought used, one sealed) and aside from having a 'less good' paintjob than the FE mold, and no double jointed elbows, it's an improvement in legitimately every way. Better articulation, more accurate, simpler (and less likely to break,) and the kibble is A LOT more manageable than the FE mold. It's one of my favorite Prime molds. Highly recommend getting both though, because the accessories on the APC mold are very nice, and almost worth the price alone with how hard the Wu upgrade kit is to find nowadays
Sooo something I found out trying to figure out the weapon orientation for her blades, the blasters and smaller blades are slightly retooled version of a Dr Wu weapon kit for the original Arcee figures both RID and First Edition.
The only copy I have of the legacy Acree mold is the Flamewar repaint for Shattered Glass, the other two I didn't care for, with Legacy Bulkhead, I skipped the first verison and got the Wreckers verison, that looks hell of a lot nicer with its cameo paint job!
They should have honestly given us Cybertron Universe Ransack since this mold hits almost everything right with that character, only thing they had to change is the chest, head and motocycle front part, and if they ever make a Cybertron Crumplezone you can recreate that Velocitron racing scene which would be very awesome
I love how people still like to defend LegArcee by saying that she looks exactly like Prime Arcee... Dude... LegArcee is to Prime Arcee what a Gundam is to an Evangelion...
If you want to remove the shoulder wings, they are on the screw so you could unscrew them. It frees up more shoulder articulation. And for bike mode just tab the wings back in like usual
I recently transformed the KO of Perfect Effect Aranea for the first time and was thinking about making a motorbike Transformers collection. I almost bought this a few days ago and now there's this video! Thanks for the video, saved me a few quid.
Other than budget cuts, plastic shortages, new designers, entirely different engineering style, and new regulations yea no you are totally right, Hasbro has no excuse, aside from the 5 I just mentioned
The feeling I get from handling this figure is that the arms are a big barrier to scaling it down to scale better with other stuff. If this toy were any smaller it'd be impossible to move the arms without them snapping in half
I wish they had taken some engineering from the FE and some from the RiD one to make their own Prime Arcee, they did a FANTASTIC Airachnid, I'm sure they could've done a killer Arcee.
The bulkhead looked pretty alright and in hands absolutely amazing, but when Hasbro announced Legacy and was giving us updated versions of our favorite characters I was hoping for not G1... I get Prime and Animated didn't have a G1 design philosophy, but for the people who love the shows and characters we grow to love that. I just hope we get what we truly want.
Thanks for doing a review on her! PVP video make her to be the near perfect version of Prime Arcee but never mention the balancing issue! I know Aliexpress got her when buying Galaxy Mob but the shipping fee was expensive for her for some reason so I'm put off buying her!
7:00 On the first edition the wheels dont lock into the calves. Its more like a soft tab because of the mold of the hinge. At least my copy is that way.
Dang, now I wish my first edition Arcce was in working order. Her right foot was stuck so when I tried to turn her into bike mode for the first time, her ankle got warped and had major stress lines. Only time that's ever happened to me
eeeeeeey I have the white and pink version of this and love it! Was debating about getting legacy arcee but talked myself into getting the APC arcee mold.
OK, “Angel Engine” Arcee…wait she’s got some issues…hey, some great features…and more issues. If the price is right, I’ll likely go APC. Now if the retooled Legacy Prowl shows up, I’ll definitely consider it! Thanks again!
Also to mention the accessories for APC are remolds or recasts of Dr. Wu upgrades which... kinda iffy to some people i get but its cool cus these were not around for very long back then
I need a Masterpiece version of TFP Arcee. And for swappable faces, she only needs four: normal, smile, angry sneer, and shouting...maybe you can get away with just three if you think of her angry sneer AS her normal face. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Honestly, I think the Legacy mold would have worked if they retooled G1 Arcee as a motorcycle, with the pink and white color scheme and everything. Trying to revise Prime Arcee in a G1-style form is a hit and miss.
I feel so much regret because I have a First Edition Arcee but an accident left her snapped in half at the waist and I don’t know how to fix her. She’s been that way for years
The prime rid figure is easily the best imo. I never got the first edition one though so I guess I cant say for sure but then compared to the legacy figure, it's no contest, prime rid arcee wins hands down. She has her own problems like wrong shade of blue, big backpack etc but she's still one of my favourite figures of all time and I'm glad I still have her all these years later. Made me realise I shouldn't have bothered with the legacy one because even with all the kibble removed it still looks bad. On a separate note I also got the legion class one somewhat recently and I even prefer that to the legacy figure for a number of reasons including the far better head sculpt that actually looks like arcee
8:42 From the front or ye side it doesn't look particularly bad. There are Yamaha bikes that don't look too dissimilar to this, it's only when you showed the top when things looked sketchy.
i highly recommend picking up the prime rid one if you can find one for cheap, its not a perfect toy, but moving the panels to her back makes her arms alot cleaner.
Besides my First Edition Prime, everything else I have is never opened. I wanna display them in their packaging and the funny thing is that I got a bunch of them for like $40 in TFcon like 7 years ago. I still regret not buying the FE Bulkhead cause now he's very expensive and is not even on my list of things I'd pick up in a heartbeat if I find them. Well maybe if I find him for something extremely stupidly cheap.
the idea of oversimplifying the non-G1 designs was a bad one. while some of them are passable, I don’t think anyone would’ve complained if they were accurate versions of the characters instead.
Ngl, I think this was in 2014 (during the time my dad was selling a lot of old figures), my dad and I (after selling the figures) stopped by a TJMaxx. Mainly for a restroom run, but we ended up putzing around a bit. And their toy section is generally shit. However, I ended up spotting the first edition Arcee, for about twenty dollars at the time. Bought her and never sold her. Even looking at resale prices, I wouldn't sell her for a heartbeat.
And that’s another video that hurts to watch. Got First Edition Arcee and Bumblebee for Christmas of 2011. There was a few reasons why those two where some of my favourites in my collection. I never saw them on store shelves, transformation for Arcee was new and interesting to me, Bumblebee’s transformation was fast and simple which made the playability a lot more enjoyable for young me, also had a similar transformation to his 2007 counterparts.
Was lucky enough to actually find the FE Arcee back in the day, and as far as I remember the experience is pretty much the same. Looks great on a shelf, but stability not so great. I think Legacy did well enough updating Bulkhead, Knockout, and Skyquake, but completely dropped the ball on the Arcee redesign. Also really tempted to get the Knockout as I only ever found the Beasthunters variation and it is not at all good subjectively.
I have FE Arcee. And as much as I like it, PRID Arcee is still my go-to figure for her. She doesn't have those panels on the arms (they go to the back, like in the animation model), she's much more fun to transform and pose, and she just feels like a better figure. And she can even use the blades that come with the FE Arcee as a nice bonus. The only problem I'd say is the colors are off. The FE one got that right, but the PRID one is missing the metallic pink and the shade of blue is too bright. And the gun look bigger than it should be, especially when you use the peg to have it cover her hand. Otherwise, I still love that figure for her almost a decade later. So nice that I got two of her and made one into a custom TFP-inspired Elita-1 custom as the first custom I ever made.
Personally I liked Bulkhead and Knockout a lot, this one I hadn't even considered buying because frankly I was mostly aiming at the Prime original characters. But I got the Flamewar version which I find great, only niggling detail is that the decpticon logo is red because of shattered glass nonsense but I can live with it.
You should really get the rid one. The only real issues are the backpack, but the wheel on that one can also be taken off, and the color scheme being a little too light, tho thats not s huge issue either. You can just look at her when shes in lighter scenes and pretend that the lighter shade of blue is how it always looks. Oh, and obviously it scales much better with everyone else
I just think it's bs that other shows like Animated and Armada got accurate bodies and (more importantly) faces, while the Prime figures got utterly shafted in the show accuracy department. I wish endless woe upon the person who decided to give these figures noses.
To place the guns over the hands do as said here lol. Take black bit out obs, now place gun over the hand and, then push towards the forearm. extra detail on how it works. Never understood why they chose this mold over the RID one. RID is smailler, more accurate in robot mode and has better articulation. Just add accessories and a more accurate color scheme and that's it. That been said, I'm still waiting they use this to release Transmutant.
This is a bit of a hot take but as it’s been a year or two since the legacy release I think it’s worth saying. The legacy prime figures are by my approximation fantastic representations and great figures on their own despite a fair share of quirks, was and legs of arcee, head sculpt of knock out, and bulkheads weird half partsforming come to mind. Though I personally love the screw figure and think it’s to current day one of the best legacy releases of legacy, evolution, and United combined. The posing is the standard to be expected and the plastic quality is wonderful. To take from PerspectiveEnd it’s got a hand candy vibe to me though ill dock points for the weird backpack detachment which I glued on. Otherwise the figure is dynamic and fits well with my collection of mainline figures. I just wish they did more future releases in better more accessible color schemes like the pink and purple of the movie arcee twins.
Prime RID is the best version and those side panels are definitely not part of the shoulders. As for the Legacy transgendered version, I grinded the sides up and in to make the waist more slender....looks way better and doesn't mess with the transformation. Good video, good alternative version from over seas 👍
Have apc’s first version of this The ball joints were incredible loose when opened, they literally fell off, thankfully fixable but yes very good figure
Minerva on that motorcycle gives me the vibe of “that one extremely self confident lesbian friend” I respect it. Got mine in recently , might pose her with Road Rocket or my Chromia
6:30 ok this is a little.. fuzzy. An independent fan made an entirely new Airachnid YEARS ago and posted it online. By some means or another, I dont think we ever got a definitive answer, APC ended up with the design and mass produced it. Some people say the original designer is the founder of APC, but no one has ever been willing to give me an actual source for that. In any case APC toys as the company APC toys did not create an entirely new design.
I love my legacy Arcee (She looks great holding Skids energon weapon),she has her issues but at least she's not as floopy as Krok ( I have him too and I love him cos of his great croc mode).I use Arcee as my current Nickle substitute.
I think both figures have their merits and detriments that make them equally valid in my eyes, but I understand why some would people prefer the old figure to the new. Personally, I think prefer the RID version of Arcee that came out after the First Edition figure overall.
Legacy prime figures missed the whole reason the prime designs were unique and loved to begin with. Taking away their sleek yet complex art style takes away what made them unique.
In my opinion, the Legacy Prime figures fail. Because they literally took the TFP style out of the TFP characters. So far, Skyquake is the only Legacy TFP figure that looks worth picking up.
While I hate the Prime universe, I still feel for those TFP fans that got G1-ified versions of their favorite characters instead of faithful ones. That's a massive L.
Best I can say about legacy arcee is that if painted purple it can work as a Nautica.
somebody get on thatr
Ordered one just to give it a go. Once I got past the idea that 'uh, can't be Nautica, Nautica's a submarine, not a bike,' then I actually saw the possibility ^^ She'd wind up a lot like a hovercraft instead, but I can see it.

I just wish they did more future releases in better more accessible color schemes like the pink and purple of the movie arcee twins.
You should really look at apc toys red gladiator which is first edition cliffjumper but more affordable
1:42 Did they actually sponsored you?🤨
But still I'll check them out.
Definitely using the link. Thanks bud.
Prime RID is the best version and those side panels are definitely not part of the shoulders. As for the Legacy transgendered version, I grinded the sides up and in to make the waist more slender....looks way better and doesn't mess with the transformation. Good video, good alternative version from over seas 👍
I like the legacy Arcee that I’m going to buy a 2nd one and paint it up to look like animated Prowl and pop the head of legacy animated Prowl on it.
Oh, i have this one... almost.
Have apc’s first version of this
The ball joints were incredible loose when opened, they literally fell off, thankfully fixable but yes very good figure
is it just me or is Safari's site down ?
Can you review the prime soundwave evil voice cobra bat version next, please. Definitely getting that one.
APC Arcee should be smaller than original.
For accuracy? Yes
For durability? GOD NO
LOOK AT THEM SPINDLY BITS
I had this when I was in childhood, but now I can't even find it
Minerva on that motorcycle gives me the vibe of “that one extremely self confident lesbian friend”
I respect it. Got mine in recently , might pose her with Road Rocket or my Chromia
Why You not pick up The TF Prime/Rid Arcee?
Gonna review their new ko of the cliff jumping boy?
I have the original first edition, and now the apc one makes it look boring and bad compared to it.
Hmm I don't remember arcee being this badass
6:30 ok this is a little.. fuzzy. An independent fan made an entirely new Airachnid YEARS ago and posted it online. By some means or another, I dont think we ever got a definitive answer, APC ended up with the design and mass produced it. Some people say the original designer is the founder of APC, but no one has ever been willing to give me an actual source for that. In any case APC toys as the company APC toys did not create an entirely new design.
Legacy arced does kinda suck but bulkhead I actually really enjoyed. Edit: arcee
It's a great lil figure if you want that prime arcee look
It doesn't help that the Legacy mold just feels super fragile and the arms love to come off at the bicep just from rotating it.
I love my legacy Arcee (She looks great holding Skids energon weapon),she has her issues but at least she's not as floopy as Krok ( I have him too and I love him cos of his great croc mode).I use Arcee as my current Nickle substitute.
To loosen joints put tiny bit of dish soap.
The only arcee I have is the prime RID version and I'm gonna stick to that one, It's a lot more proportionate
"Because ARcee literally murderd everyone"
Knock-out: yeah 'Everyone'
I think both figures have their merits and detriments that make them equally valid in my eyes, but I understand why some would people prefer the old figure to the new. Personally, I think prefer the RID version of Arcee that came out after the First Edition figure overall.
i can tell you for a fact that the Transformers Prime robots In Disguise deluxe class Arcee was, and probably still is, a decent figure.
Oh, yo tengo esa Arcee, no sabía que era valiosa.
While I hate the Prime universe, I still feel for those TFP fans that got G1-ified versions of their favorite characters instead of faithful ones. That's a massive L.
