  • Thanks so much to Danny for letting me ride his 2022 Svartpilen 401. I had a bit of time with the bike and was able to chat with him regarding his experience as well. It's a great little bike and worth your consideration.

      It’s an awesome bike! I’m not ready to get another bike yet, but I go between this and the Moto Guzzi V85TT. Thanks for your comment.

    I have this bike as my daily commuter. 30 miles across ferry and freeways and I absolutely love it. I did install a Puig windscreen. Your review nails it and I like that pannier.

    I have the 200cc version and I love it. Great commuter and fun when taking a long ride. sips gas around 38-42kmpl.

      Thanks so much for your comment. We don’t get the 200cc in our market. But I do believe it looks the same. Do you mind if I ask what the top speed is of the 200? Thanks again.

    • @RubricoA.
      @RubricoA. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UrAvgRider It looks the same, every dimension is the same but the fork has no adjustments, rear shock only has rebound adjustment, and no quickshifter. They also use Cast wheel instead of spoked to keep the cost down and the logo, instead of 401 they put Husqvarna with their logo which is more desirable for me. I still didn't ride it to high speed but it claims it can reach 140kmph or 87mph

      @@RubricoA. I greatly appreciate your comment. I personally like small displacement bikes and your 200 sounds awesome. And I think the top speed is fitting as well. Thanks again.

    Thanks for this video. I’m torn between this bike and duke 390, both of which share multiple parts.
    Liked and subscribed 👍

      Thanks so very much for the like and subscribe. I saw a Duke 390 last night and took a good look at it. Not with intent to purchase, but more so out of curiosity. The Svartpilen 401 and Duke 390 were not side by side, but the Duke 390 looked like a physically smaller bike to me than the Svartpilen. I personally like the Svartpilen 401 more than the Duke, but I might be tempted to look at the Adventure 390. I still like the look of the Svartpilen more, but maybe the Adventure 390 is more practical. And while I bought my Honda based on practicality, I prefer the motorcycles I’ve purchased based on pure emotion. Thanks again. Ride safe.

      I looked at both last week and the seat on the Husky is more comfortable. It also doesn't look like a demented insect from the front. The Svart LED headlight on hi beam could remove paint!

    Seriously considering this bike.
    I have a Honda Navi right now and I love how light and nimble it is but I want something that can go on the highway for a few miles.

    Great Review! Can you tell me more about the rear luggage carrier and the soft pannier that were installed on the bike? Looks like this is the best solution i've seen on a Svart so far.

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From the owner (not me):
      Gladly! My side pannier rack and bags are from this Italian company Unit Garage (from Strathmoto.com), had a quick release system with the bags, lockable to the rack, and fully waterproof!
      And the rear rack from Procraft. I believe they are based out of Argentina. Super easy to install, just 4 bolts under the rear seat. It allows you to add a top case on the rack, but I use to as a rear extender to strap more things to the rear.
      Thanks so much for your comment. I hope the owners response was helpful.

      @@UrAvgRider Thanks for the quick reply - and that's a cool and very high quality looking solution! I noticed UG's products, but I've yet not seen a luggage carrier in action on a Svart. Nothing beats real experience! Unfortunately, UG is a bit pricy, but definitely worth the money. There is a saying that says: if you buy cheap, you buy twice. Greetings from Germany to you and the owner of that smart Svart, Cheers!

      @user-mb6ke9rh9q Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. You are correct in purchasing a quality item. I had a boss that had a quote up on his wall. If I remember it correctly, it read something like this. “You will rejoice when purchasing a cheap item but curse every time you use it. Or you can curse when purchasing a quality item but rejoice every time you use it.” Thanks again and welcome to my channel.

    How tall are you? It looked like you were on tip toes around the 2:00 minute mark. I'm 5'7 and contemplating the Svartpilen as my first bike.

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your comment. I’m between 5’7” & 5’8” with a 30” inseam. The Svartpilen 401 has a seat height of 32.9”. Normally this would be too much for me, but the seat is narrow and the bike is light. It feels about the same reach of my Honda which has a seat of 31.9”.

    Most parts that fit a KTM Duke 390 and KTM 390 ADV fit the Svartpilen 401 just fine since that's where Husky got all their parts from. Even after market ECU's for the Duke 390 fit the Svartpilen 401 just fine without needing any map updates. So for parts.. you will have NO issues other than the fairings and Svartpilen only parts like the dash and headlights. This bike is essentially a KTM 390 ADV in scrambler looks but priced below a Duke 390.. it's a BARGAIN.

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While I am aware of the same engine and I would assume that tunes, etc would work. I never thought about other KTM 390 accessories fitting as the body is so different. I guess it’s something to look into though. Thanks so much for your comment.

    2 Things I want from the Factory would be WP Apex Adjustable Suspension (not come with this) Look for the tiny red adjustment leaver on top of the font forks and the Upper Routing for the Exhaust. (not come with this) Instead of going below the engine it goes another route which is higher up. Seems to me finding these 2 features at the same time is impossible :-(

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your comment. As this is a 2022 model, it has the adjustable fork suspension. I did not alter it from the owner's settings so I cannot comment on its function. As for the exhaust pipe, it appears to come out front and centre and then swing to the left before passing under the bike to the right-hand side to the muffler. There appears to be a catalytic converter at the front covered by the skid plate. This is the same as the KTM Duke 390 (which this bike is based on). I won't fault Husqvarna for their design as it is advertised as an "Urban Explorer". While it does have a "scrambler" aesthetic, it is not a purpose built dirt bike. Besides the lack of ground clearance, it will also have street suspension as this is a street bike. So while you won't be "dual-sploring" with this bike, don't let that stop you from taking it on the occasional trail. Just be mindful of it's limitations. Which can be said for pretty much all manufacturers "scrambler" offerings.

      You do remember that I have owned one, right ;-) In-fact I have owned three RC 373, one Duke, 373 & one Sv-Fart 373. I want a Vitpilen 373 & KTM ADV 373 next.

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do remember. But others reading your comment may not know that. And your first comment states that the bike doesn't come with the adjustable suspension when it does. On a side note, do you refer to only the KTM/Husqvarna models by their actual engine size or every bike?

    • @AngelFaceMotoRider
      @AngelFaceMotoRider ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I meant to say (not ALL come with Adjustable Suspension & Upper Routing for the Exhaust) Once you see a 2018 Sv-Fart with the different exhaust path, you know what I mean. Its higher up from better ground clearance. ;-) It's a Pet Peeve of mine when Manufacturers don't just use the actual displacement in their naming. eg. the Rebel 500 (471cc is pretty far away from 500 I feel)

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      I checked out the 2018 exhaust. Maybe it caused an issue with heat being routed through the bike. Either way, not a deal breaker for me. And personally, neither is the naming scheme. They all do it. Most are within 30 of the actual cc. I don’t think manufacturers are being dishonest. They always state the exact displacement. It’s just a name and it allows the manufacturer to make small engine changes throughout the years without changing the name. For example, Triumph Thruxton 900 was an 865cc and the new Triumph engine is 900cc.
