We never met but I did meet his moms sister who would fondly always speak of the two of them. He was one of a kind and I still remember seeing him live in concert 9 months pregnant. I stood on my feet singing from the moment he came out on stage til the last song and had my baby two days later lol. I will never forget that, his first song was Never too Much which remains my favorite still. I remember his song Superstar playing for the first dance at my wedding. All these years have gone by and I still miss what he brought not only to the music industry but to the world for the person he was. He deserved this honor.

When I first heard Luther do the lead vocals for Gregg Diamond & Bionic Boogie on the 1978 track hot butterfly, I was only 8 yrs old and I loved the song as it was played regularly in the house of course I didn't know who Luther was I just read the record which said it was Greg Diamond but I just loved the song and in the 80's I was his biggest fan along with Michael Jackson. The he came to London in 1987 at Hammersmith odeon and the queue went around the block and live he was just as good if not better than the records
I hate to be so negative but why oh why could'nt they have given this to Luther when he was alive.? He was and had already been a huge star by the time they gave hm the star I'm sure he would have loved this amazing accolade....Better late than never..
