I honestly really wanna buy Tony Dixon's D Irish Flute, and it's affordable enough for me too. I'm just watching this video as a guide once I'm able to buy one. I love the sound of Irish Flutes so much.
Back in the day there were no "Irish flutes" there were simple system flutes and contemporary concert flutes. If you learned to play a whistle it is easier to play a simple system flute. Me I play both kinds of flute but not the recorder, that is damned confusing. I used to think playing Irish music on a concert flute was untraditional, but it ain't, that is a myth, it is just that simple system flutes used to be more available second hand as they take less maintenance to keep in good playing order.
I played the low C whistle, this sounds far less breathless but still sweet and transportive. Thank you for this.
Glad you enjoyed it!

You can find very good secondhand wooden flutes.. you could look for the Facebook groups for example about Irish flutes and whistles.
