    The lack of drama and arbitrary deadlines is what makes the show so enjoyable. Bitchin Rides is without a doubt the best car show ever. Don't change a thing. I wish there was a similar show for motorcycles.

    The lack of drama is what drew me to want to watch the show more and more. Get rid of your writers get rid of the stupid jokes get rid of the drama. Car guys don't want to see drama they want to see cars being built they want to see the tips and tricks and techniques not the drama and the whining and the jokes

    I had the pleasure of Meeting Dave at a car show in PA last summer. He was just as you would imagine. Very pleasant, engaging and an overall gentleman. I told him that what really drew me to the show other than the incredible cars was the lack of "drama" and the fact that they don't try and tell you they do a car in seven days, they keep it real. He told me that was what he wanted from the start. He said that the network, while trying to develop the show wanted him to do x amount of cars in an impossible amount of time. I cannot remember how many in how long but I remember he said that there was no way he would do that and that it was impossible with the type of quality he demands. If that was what they wanted he would not do the show. As we now know, the network relented and we have benefited.

    • @greetings8843
      @greetings8843 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Believe it or not... probably 97% of car shops are drama-free zones. They really have to look hard to find characters like Boyd Coddington (RIP and no offense) and Paul "'Roid-Rage" Teutul Senior to "up" the drama factor. This is getting pretty obvious today because there are so many drama-free car/motorcycle shows. Foose may have been silly, but the lack of drama was great, but their attempts at making deadlines seem important was stupid. One time Foose's producers missed an edit and one of the people on the show said something like "we are just about at the end of week 3" when the build was supposed to be happening much more quickly than that, I forget if it was 1 or 2 weeks for that build. It's getting harder and harder for drama-queen owners to keep the doors open. With artificial drama being my #1 "hate" item re. car and motorcycle shows, my #2 "hate" is fake and unrealistic deadlines. Real businesses that are run that way year after year have either massive employee "churn" or they fail completely and go out of business.

    Dave Kindig is the best Custom Car builder in the world. His talented team are dedicated to perfection. I met Dave and his son Drew a few years ago in OC Md. Just last week I got my picture with him and Kev Dogg at the Mecum Auction in Florida. They attracted the largest crowd of anybody there. Both are super nice people. Dave and his crew have been leaps and bounds above the old motorcycle shows and nauseating "reality" craze, all while building gorgeous cars. I notice that all, or most, of the comments here are from Guys and they’re very positive. TV Also has a female audience. I wonder if the shows that have more “Drama” are more appealing to a wider audience, including women?
      I don’t have the ratings, but there must be some reason for all the goofy shows that have the phoney
      arguments and drama.
      I hate it, like most guys do. I like great design ideas, and watching real craftsmen at work.

I had an auto body repair shop for 35 years and the work is not that easy doing restorations. The collision work was not as bad except for timelines to please the insurance companies. You have to protect your body from so many hazards also. I am sitting here using oxygen because COPD caused partially from the sanding dust and painting, cigarettes and the 5 years in a coal mine. My knees are shot from working on concrete for so long also. You have to make good money to compensate. Dave is past all that since he has good employees to do the work. This is just a trash video compiled of stolen video clips narrated by a computer reading a Chat GPT script.

    I like the show because they show you how it was done. The downside is most of these projects are way beyond most people's budgets,so you get to see what wealthy enthusiasts spend their money on.

      Agree, I would love to know what the customers end up paying for these masterpieces. That’s would put some reality into a reality tv show.

      Funny you say that as I was thinking when I first started watching him years ago, I dreamed of getting him to improve a car of mine one day because he seemed to be on the edge of attainable for me. Now he has grown to where that sure has gone out the window.

    At 6:26 that's NOT Justin Stephens! That's Phil Cato!
    I appreciate that the show has no drama. Now...if only Dave and team would learn how to correctly pronounce "Porsche!" I think Will is the only team member who pronounces it correctly! :-)

    Show a believable work environment where the guys and gals are allowed to have fun while producing amazing products is a plus in a world where strife appears to be the norm, and if no strife present, these other shows just make some up. Texas Metal is another show I really like for these same reasons, but their recent format change to doing multiple vehicles at the same time has take away the fluidity.
    Ken you keep doing you bro, and I will keep living my dream through you....

    Only thing I kept wondering was where are the crew going? It seems many guys don't stay and that would be hard to run a shop with a skeleton crew of fabricators and painters all that.

    Maybe so boring for those that does not have an idea of what an automobile is or how to work on one more to transform one into a masterpiece or they are individuals that are unable to see professionals with the desire to have an outstanding work environment. No doubt that behind cameras could one or other disagreement but for I could see it's run with love and respect for all. No place is perfect.
