    The Guanches were an isolated tribal population of Tall blonde powerfully built blue eyed peoples related to the North African Amazighs. They were not all killed, many were assimilated by the Spaniards, many residents of the Canary Islands today still have high percentage of North African Amazighs in their DNA, more than Iberian.

    The aborigines of Gran Canaria were not called Guanches as the ancient inhabitants of the Canaries are erroneously called, in Gran Canaria there were the Canariis, a population from North Africa who arrived on the island.
    Guanche is the term that belongs to the island of Tenerife, and in their language it means 'He who is from Tenerife'
    The rest of the island also has their names.
    For the island of La Palma, Benahorita
    For La Gomera, Gomero.
    the island of El Hierro, Bimbache and for those of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, Majos.
    Not that of Guanche, rather the term Aboriginal Canario is used.

    The latest research shows that they were brown people , with brown eyes, and you can see in some museums they made pictures of the original people based on their DNA and form of their bones, when we talk about their origins , the geneticists And the archaeologists have no doubt that they are amazigh based on the DNA, the language, the writing, the culture and historical monuments .
    Personally am from Morocco, my mom is amazigh , I can find so many similarities between my culture and these's people culture , even the language , am proud of them because they are proud of their culture and their are keeping it , I may have some great grand grand...father in common with people there.

      Yes of course they were brownish/Swarthy skin with dark hair, Spaniards were surprised that some had light hair and features as this common diversity amongst mainland Berbers today. You are right people are just misinformed about the Guanches

  • @joaosoares3349
    @joaosoares3349 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Guanches were a brownish complexion with dark hair and eyes, this influence is seen in Canarians today. The Guanches were North African Berber people and looked like Berbers in North Africa today. Some did have light hair and skin and this is found even amongst Berber tribes like Kabyles and Riff in Morrocco and Algeria today.

    I haven’t gone to visit. My grandmother was a guanche and left the canary island. I believe I will be devastated when ever I return to see how the island is now used a tourist destination. Spain should be held account for committing genocide against my ancestors but yet they profit from them even after death.

      Look, these Gaunches were not Aborigines to the Canary Island, and no they were not indigenous to North Africa, this is BS..They didn't Mummify any of their people, not even close..They were so ignorant they couldn't even built a raft to get off the Island. They were dump there deliberately by Ancient Africans Muslims from Sudan and Mali as slaves. The island was treated like a pitstop. The paternal Haplogroup of the males were E1a (3.33%), E1b1b1a (23.33%), E1b1b1b (26.67%), I* (6.67%), J1 (16.67%), K, P (3.33%), and R1b1b2 in origins, which explains why so many different Paternal lineages of many races throughout Europe end up ON such a small island. FOR GOD SAKES THE CANARY ISLANDS ONLY 60MILES FROM WEST AFRICA. The women MTDNA were mostly Haplogroup H and U. This man who made this video does not explain the true detail of these Cro-Magnon HYBRID MUTTS. If you look into the Black Moors that ruled Southern Europe, these hybrid mix of slavs = slavic on the Canary Islands are the remnant of many variety of different Y-DNA among the men, which explains how the population of these slavic hybrid mix end up on the island.
      You can examine the chart link below of the same patterns among the Dominicans Republic island that DNA haplogroup are of many variety of races that were dump there from many countries like Iberia peninsula, Rome, with other Southern and Western Europe countries. The only haplogroups that are ancient in DR is the Y-DNA E1b1a atlasdna.xyvy.info/country-national-haplogroup-chart-dna/dominican-republic
      THERE IS NOTHING ANCIENT ABOUT THE GAUNCHES OK...ALL THE VIDEOS OF GAUNCHES HISTORY THROUGHOUT TH-cam ARE MADE BY A BUNCH EUROCENTRIC AMATEURS THATs TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING GREAT OUT OF A BUNCH OF SLAVIC PEOPLE THAT WERE DUMP THERE BY AFRICAN BLACK MOORS..GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

    Wtf here the people have no idea about Guanches, sorry for the strange accent?? Omg really? when you sing a Folia the voice changes a lot!! By the love of lord.. hahaha is the most beautiful accent of spain, the Guanche origin is Amazigh yes, they came to this Islands because they NEVER did surrender vs Roma, so Roma took the Guanches to Canary Islands, in that era was the white africa so the guanches was more like babilons, before the Spain conquerer, vikings celtics and romans came here and in all this time the culture of here became 100% different, between Islands was different too, diff words expressions etc, usually the ADN of a Canary person is 40%-70% Iberian and the rest is Guanche, Escandinavian, Italian or Celtic

    • @joaosoares3349
      @joaosoares3349 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Guanches were brownish complexion, some had light hair and skin but the average Guanches looked like North African berber people today. Your concept of " White Africa" is ridiculous, the Berbers have been the same since antiquity. Studies done on the gene pool of Remains found from Guanches showed the Berbers already had Sub-Saharan African and Mediterranean DNA, The Berbers had already mixed with these groups

    • @titan01849
      @titan01849 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joaosoares3349 You have to read about history, like today?? The Berebers Tribes of that times was totally diferent, because that was before the Arabian invasion, so are not equal, for example you can read about Guanches in the north of Tenerife, they was white and blonde, but in the Island south was more brownish because the hot weather

    • @joaosoares3349
      @joaosoares3349 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No they looked like berbers today, the Arab invasion didnt change much in terms of North African genetics, Berbers today have strong genetic continuity to Ancient North Africans, meaning they haven't changed that much, the Guanches gene pool had a mix of Berber, sub-Saharan African, and Mediterranean ancestry. This is consistent with the genetic profile of North Africans long before the Arabs invaded, Guanches were for the most part like North Africans, light to medium brown skin tone, ancient North Africans were a medium brown skin, but light skin and hair is also present among North African phenotypes, Similar to some found in Kabyle. Berbers have had diversity in skin tones since ancient times.
