      its both if we are being real, I am tired of both beginners who think a 1000$ guitar will make them play better and people who think expensive guitars aren't better.
      Cheap guitars can easily deter beginners from playing if it is improperly setup/has sharp frets/neck angle is wrong etc etc. The fact of the matter is a 50usd guitar isn't ideal. Beginners should try to get a guitar in the 150usd range if possible and at least get their guitar setup even if they do go cheaper.

    For people out there looking to get their first guitar: Don't worry TOO much about the sound. Your main focus should be on HOW DOES IT FEEL? is it comfortable? the playability of a guitar is the most important aspect in my opinion. A guitar can sound amazing, but if it feels horrible, you'll never play it.
    *edit* obviously if you're a beginner, you might not even know the difference between what is a playable guitar and what is a guitar that's working against you. It's really best to have a friend who knows more about guitars to help you out.

I will say it 1000 times nope I'm not getting that first the one at the guitar store someone tuned up like a 5th so E string was a B. So it sounded bad because of that and had to tune it but it also felt bulky. Kinda sucks because every time I see a gretch I think they look amazing but it was just so bulky not even the fact it was bigger idk how to describe it but I think if someone went in a guitar store they could pick

    It’s also possible to improve the playability of a cheap guitar with common tools. The videos are all here on TH-cam. Don’t be afraid to learn about guitars and how to set them up at the same time you’re learning to play. It’s not terribly hard if you are even a little bit handy, learning how to figure out what need “fixing” is harder than actually doing it most of the time.

    I remember buying a guitar off wish. It actually turned out ok for a noodling guitar. It had some crappy wire to mimic guitar strings, but I just replaced those with nylon strings and shaved down the nut and bridge a bit. It has issues with the bad upper frets, but I'm still very much a learner, and it's more of a beater guitar anyways, if that makes sense.

      This guy is a few levels above a normal player. He got it to sound not too bad, but definitely not good. The worst is he had to raise the action which makes the player have to use a lot more pressure on the string. Playing for a few minutes on a high action gets painful.

The feel is the most important. If it doesnt feel good your never gonna play it. The feel is the most important. Not the looks, not the sound the feel. 3.05 million subs and Andrew STILL has the work a second job? I guess this goes to show even though he's incredibly talented, being a guitar TH-camr isn't very profitable.

    • @niashq
      @niashq ปีที่แล้ว +20

      It’s because of the covers. TH-camrs that do covers don’t actually get paid for the cover videos a number of reasons, mainly copyright. That’s why all cover youtubers have patreon and other media.

    • @71ives
      @71ives ปีที่แล้ว

      High action is when the strings r farther from the fret, it can make it harder to play bc to play chords u have to press down on strings (pretty sure anyways, I’m also a beginner so i don’t know all the terms and stuff lol)

    The first guitar that is shown from Wish, that one is made in the same Chinese factory that makes Glarry guitars and also for some other retail companies as well. They just slap on the Glarry name or other company name on the head stock. Not sure about the other guitar. One thing to know as long as there is a truss rod in the neck of the guitar, to make neck adjustments and also the string saddle in the bridge is not "glued in" you can set the string height and get and playability a bit better on both of those.

    I bought my electric guitar for like $60 or $80 and it came with two amps and two guitar chords and after 7+ years it is still great and working! More expensive is not always better. It is an Ibanez guitar based off a fender but it in my opinion sounds even better if you like more distortion playing but still sounds nice clean too

    That's actually a pretty decent guitar. Here in the Philippines you can buy a trash guitar for 20bucks. Then you will quit eventually coz you'll think you're terrible, but the guitar is the actual problem.
    Im glad i invested in a decent guitar back when i was a newbie. The learning experience was much easier.

    For acoustic guitars I don't suggest anyone buy anything less than $150 retail.
    The strings are already a challenge to press in the beginning plus most cheap guitars have no setup done meaning the action is too high making it even harder to press. Most necks have like a U neck which honestly feels terrible and alot of them have tons of poly or lacquer finish which stick to your hands.
    That being said if you can really find a *good* local brand or get any from Yamaha or Cort etc it'll be fine.

    Fun fact: i bought my first (and only) guitar back in 2013 for 4k inr (roughly 70 usd in 2013) and i still play that to this day...
    It's actually pretty good...
    PS: maintainence is important, for example changing strings every few months, adjusting the truss rod when needed etc...
    Edit: the guitar i have looks very similar to the one shown at 2:15 😛...but mine plays wayy better than this wish guitar 😌

    My tip for beginners: Buy a crap guitar at first.
    I went out and bought a $1,000 Gibson guitar as a beginner because it looked cool. About 1 year later, I found an Epiphone Les Paul for $500 that I absolutely fell in love with. Loved the sound and loved the look.
    The $1k Gibson sat in my practice space full time after I bought the Epiphone. And when I sold the Gibson, I took a loss as no one pays full price for a used guitar.
    So learn how to play a guitar, learn your style and sound, THEN spend big bucks on one you like. Especially if you barely had money to buy a guitar in the first place like I did. I saved for a year to buy the Gibson.

    I got my 1st acoustic guitar that actually a bad guitar/cheap thatwhich I used to practice because I was just a beginner at the time and I didn't know much about the specs of guitars so I just ordered and then I used it for about a year until I had ideas about the specs of guitars like wood which was used here and others and now I have a Yamaha guitar and I can say that it is also good that when starting to play the guitar again, you don't need a good quality first then buy a quality guitar when you are intermediate and I can say that my experience with my guitar journey is good. :)
