Thanks for the review! I've been looking at getting a pair of these. Really like Vortex as a vendor, and I have other binos from them. They've been great to work with over the years. It's just the price point as you mentioned that makes me reluctant. Guess I'll have to look at the Monarch 5s just to rule them out before going all in (if I do) on the Razors.
Thanks for the kind words. I liked but didn't love the 18x of the razors. It's the only reason I went away from them. If they would just make 15x they were great binos!
Great review - you mentioned the Athlon Cronus 15x56, which I own and love. From your brief comments, would you agree that a move from those to the Razor 18x56 would not be worthwhile in image quality terms?
Thanks for the positive words! As far as the binos go, it all depends what you are looking for. If you have the money and want to squeeze the last little bit of detail out at long range or at low light then the Razors are a step up. However, if you are looking for the best bang for your buck stick with the Cronus, in my opinion, there isn't enough difference to justify the jump up from a bang for buck prospective.

I agree. I just bought the Nikon monarch 5 and it is awesome. Beautiful clarity.

I think the monarchs probably are a better bang for your buck for sure.
