Hunting is hard. Are we experts at it? No. Will you see us kill a pile of animals? Also no, but we'll have a ton of fun trying to do it. Learn from our mistakes as we go so hopefully your endeavors are as fruitful as possible.

This 6.5 PRC certainly has my attention, but I’m also looking at the 6.8 Western too !
Never had a chance to use the 6.8 Western but I like what I've seen on it!
Wow!!!! No way, shape, or form would i ever have the luxury of quick balling up some ear plugs and throwing them in while deer hunting. And i take my hearing seriously! Been hunting since 1991 and having the time to do so, and without beeing seen, or without missing a shot opportunity would be very rare.
I think it truly depends on your hunting style. Out west you usually have some the few seconds necessary.
@DeerandDonuts totally agree!!
One of the best coues videos I've seen!
Thanks my man!
Bad ass
Thanks for the review! I've been looking at getting a pair of these. Really like Vortex as a vendor, and I have other binos from them. They've been great to work with over the years. It's just the price point as you mentioned that makes me reluctant. Guess I'll have to look at the Monarch 5s just to rule them out before going all in (if I do) on the Razors.
Thanks for the kind words. I liked but didn't love the 18x of the razors. It's the only reason I went away from them. If they would just make 15x they were great binos!
Just ordered some today
We think you'll love them for the money!
Smoked my buck at 750 with my 6.5 PRC. One shot to the top of the heart. I like my Creed but for long range or mid range in the wind I grab the PRC
I'm a self admitted gear junkie but moving on from my 6.5 PRC is just something I don't see myself doing. It's just ballistically great!
Love the channel name deer and donuts
Thanks! Hope you stick around!
I will
I BOUGHT MY GRANDAUGHTER A RUGER AMERICAN YOUTH MODEL I AM CONSIDERING A MUZZLE BRAKE TO MAKE IT HAVE LESS RECOIL FOR HER. THIS WAS A GOOD SOURCE OF INFO NOW WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH RECOILA RADIAL BREAK PROVIDES. Then I will decide which one gets put on her gun.
In my experience radial brakes can drop it as much as 50% but a directional will always do a bit more. If recoil is your only objective I'd look that route!
Hell yah, I enjoy your guys hunt kids, keep filling them tags
Thanks, We appreciate you watching!
They make another spotter called the Ares or something of that nature. It’s a mini spotter. My son has one. We set it up right next to my Swarovski ATC and its pretty nice budget scope.
Athlon makes some of the best bang for the buck optics on the market in my opinion!
@ yes check out the one I’m talking about. It’s Athlon and very much well worth the $500-$600 price. Like I said I was very impressed with it right next to my Swarovski
Love my 6.5PRC, I wasn’t looking forward to the recoil for my aged frame, but with a muzzle brake, it is virtually nonexistent
I have yet to find a round I like more for the ballistics to recoil ratio!
Do you think this land would be damn near impossible to bow hunt?
Impossible? No. Difficult? Definitely. I see the most success with people sitting tanks.
@ excellent info thank you!
My browning 21 yr old A bolt II 7mm wsm is being threaded for a browning sporter recoil hawg not because of recoil but because of muzzle jump so I can track my shots better through the scope
That is 100% an added benefit!
my bergara and winchester came with breaks and my cva 300 prc i got one from cva. wouldnt shoot a big cal gun without one
Could not agree more. I might be a wuss for it but I hate big recoil. These brakes help a ton!
Love your videos! I hit the subscribe button (your channel name is also cool 😀). Liked and commented too. Keep on making great content. Happy Hunting! 😀
Thanks amigo! That's what I love about youtube, let's me come across content like yours. Threw the subscribe back to see more AZ Hunting videos!
@ Thanks!
Well done documenting how a Coues hunt goes down!
Appreciated!
Are they true to size for US sizes?
Take it with a grain of salt, as Tom bought these a few years ago but they were true to size at that time.
Db tac tanker 450 bushmaster. Kaw valley linear compensator ar15.
6.5x300 wby has entered the chat 😮
Ballistically that's a super tough round to beat, I just don't like the limited offerings in rifles or the ammo availability. If you have one set up like you'll hear no complaints from me though!
@DeerandDonuts mark V weathermark, 300yd zero puts me MPBR about 425 yds. Using 127 gr LRX
Awesome
Appreciate the support!
Cans do not make rifles hearing safe.
I think it depends on the rifle and the can.
The highlight for me is definitely the “Vented….vents! 😂 thanks for the review
Scott really is a master of the English language...Thanks for stopping by, we hope to see you on another one!
Nice Binos, like from me!
Thanks, we appreciate it!
Nothing has made smaller tracts of public land more crowded than these hunting apps. l just scouted 175 acres of state land the other day and located 6 treestands in one quick walk, awesome !!!
1. Awesome username. 2. There's very few things in life that are 100% good. That is an unfortunate side affect of these mapping programs.
Thanks for the review. Where I hunt in eastern Oregon there is no service in the woods and app reliability is key, I do plan to have backup.
Thanks! Hope you have a great season, definitely have a back up plan.
It always surprises me how much it depends on who you're with and how differently they will describe where something is at. It can be amazingly frustrating 😂
Some guys have it down to a science, some guys I truly question if we are even looking at the same mountain.
So much more than just a hand model! lol
We try and have a wide range of talents...useless talents, but talents none the less
An old archaeology prof would always start with a recognizable landmark in the foreground & then work back to the object being observed. Seems to work well when I try to show non-hunters where to find something.
That's a solid way to do it too!
The price of ammo is killing me, I can't go to any of these new rounds. You make great points on your video I agree with them all. Take care
Also I'm stuck with 25$ boxs of 30-6 180grain at 2750 I don't venture out 400 yards ever unless I'm sending it on a target at a range. Love the 6.5prc idea though
News flash. Camo makes no difference when Whitetail hunting. I was wearing solid black last season standing on the ground next to my friend who was in Realtree but had a cigarette dangling from his mouth. Three does walked within five yard of us. Silence and stillness are your two best patterns, and awareness of the wind is a close third. Your grandpa used to hunt in red flannel and did just fine. THAT being said, I own a few different patterns from KUIU. The Verde shown here is incredible in deciduous forests when the leaves are green. They have a brown pattern that's much more suitable after the leaves fall. I wouldn't get hung up on patterns IF your only concern is deer hunting.
Nice set up.
Thanks man. Nothing huge but it's definitely great seeing some deer!
" It's 107°, it's warm today" WTF is hot for you, sir? Great review, deciding between this and KUIU's merino base. Mostly for cold damp weather.
107 is unfortunately just warming up in the Phoenix area. Everything is great, I love it here... For cool damp weather in my opinion merino is tough to beat but this is a great shirt.
Get a second job .are get paid more. Thats cheap.😅
No Picture of the two rounds?
Still loud not worth it.
To each there own. I can see where some people wouldn't want to shell out the cash.
Dudes that say that it's loud are too poor to buy some....😂😅
@richiegonzales6750 I own a 6.5 prc precision howa. Puts the same hole one after another at 100 yard. As far as poor, I make $250,000 a year. If your looking good for a job I might hire you since you ptmrobaly make minimum wage are under $100,000 , keep your poverty comment to yourself hick.
@richiegonzales6750 Gonzalez. Yeah your broke for sure. Probably works the fields.🤣
Awesome keep it up amigo
Thank you my friend, getting into the best time of the year!
I’d like to see you do a video comparing the different First Lite camo’s and which one would be good for multiple hunts from the whitetail woods of Midwest to elk hunts out West.
Been saying deer with my Walmart camo for years.
Not sponsored, goes to change, sponsored Yuma add pops up.
My man if we found a way to be sponsored by a company as large as first lite, I'd be telling everyone. I think the youtube algorithms got ya.
How are these as handheld? Will these require some kind of stabilization (monopod/tripod)?
I think it depends what you are trying to use them for and at what distance. What are their intended use for you?
@@DeerandDonuts primarily for roof inspections, but I wanted to be able to use them for hunting as well. Our max distance for glassing here in South Alabama is 400-500 yards. Thinking maybe the 10x50 may be better for my situation.
I think if you are looking out to 400-500 I'd recommend a traitor stabilization either way. With that said unless you are trying to really look at mine length on deer or something like that the 10s might be a bit better. Definitely easier to handle glass with and 500 yards is way shorter than what we are typically using these 12s to glass at.
Before I built my rifle I took a really hard look at both the 6.5 PRC and 6.5 Creedmoor. Due to 6.5 PRC not being a “true” short action and it having substantially more recoil, I decided on the 6.5 Creedmoor. Yes, the 6.5 PRC has better overall ballistics than the 6.5 Creedmoor, but it does at the expense of more recoil, cost, and also the 6.5 PRC ammunition and rifles are not as widespread. I shot a 300 Win. Mag. for the last 25 years and have learned that bigger is not always better. The noise and recoil of the 300 Win. Mag. is not as cool as it used to be. 🤣
Haha couldn't imagine 25 years of 300 win mag. I think we can all agree either 6.5 will be substantially easier on your body after that.
@@DeerandDonutsIt was once said, “A small bullet in the right place is better than a big bullet in the wrong place.” Shot placement is paramount! Happy Hunting…🤙🏼
Keep in mind, you can always load the prc cartridges lighter and have less recoil for range, target, and general shooting. Load it up stronger for hunting season. I've found over the years that most rifles can have great accuracy at the lower end of the reloading books.

The best channel so far on muzzle brakes. I love shooting my 300 WM and thanks to brakes ,I enjoy it more.I would love to hear more on the kinds of brakes out there and what's best for me.
great job guys!
Thanks! He was definitely not massive but was an awesome first deer for someone.
Would they be good for outdoor college Football games?
I think that all depends on how good your seats are. I can see the 12x being a little strong to see the whole field.
What is the outside diameter of that factory radial x-bolt factory brake? Could you please tell me?
