Hi, I don't know if you've seen some of the other MC-707 youtube videos, there's one showing you how you can change the track settings for the sound. If you change the sound source from "Track" to "Clip", you can change the voice of your sequence by changing clips. Really interesting to interact with the sequence from the Novation SL and automated clip chains from the MC-707. I'm hugely excited by this!
The MC-707 should have had an HDMi output with an extra USB for a mouse. Other than that it's pretty much perfect. I liked it so much I got another one.. 😊 The 1.4 update makes the SLmk3 so much more useable. Great combo.
@Trololo Inc ® the 1.6 update adds class compliant usb which is a big step forward. Not had much of a chance to play with it since the update but you can do more with Zenbeats now.
I was very late so had trouble understanding what was happening. Actually no, that's pretty normal for me. It makes me smile seeing Gaz get into it so I'll be back.
Well, apparently with the 1.6 system release there IS an arpeggiator now. Amongst other things....Random tone generator looks cool too. I guess there won’t be a dedicated Zen core controller. Quite the contrary in fact, Zenology IS a kind of “standalone editor” for The MC-707 (not in real time though, through tone import), just like with any zen-core hardware
New show with full on performances, cool, you can call it Gaz proms.Good time to not clash is late uk time. Roland approach now is for making it easy to move between studio and live setups, and fine if you want Roland catalogue of sounds.Aria tech sounds have more character to me though than the new Zencore, which just don't grab me at all.Sounds fine but generic. Seems like a compromise based on cost of cpu power for the market their aiming at. .Colour can be very useful when it's colour coding, gimmicky without any purpose.though.
The MC707 is like an oxymoron... it's both intuitive and a complicated mess in it's interface. It's like they had a great idea... but they only half-baked it.
Yep that’s why the new update for the MC-707 (dropped just after this show) was a surprise as it added class compliant USB audio interface capabilities which is a big surprise.

Totally agree in the hope of instruments (not boxes in itself for the most part right now) can talk to each other how assist us making music we like.

707 is a killer machine, enjoyable stream Gaz
I'd be very interested in that book, would be a good read
this thing is like the "All-U-Can Eat" buffet of groove boxes.

It released just after this vid I think. Today’s show (30th September) will be about the MC-707 update
I’ve heard the SL MK3 is buggy with Logic Pro X. Thoughts?
Ah I haven’t tried that. In fact I’ve mainly used the SL with hardware. Worked perfectly with Cubase though.

Roland consistently uses proprietary drivers that they stop supporting after 5 years. Vsynth anyone ?

Awesome news Gaz - many thanks for all you do!

@@DaraM73 lol someone better warn them....as every one puts in orders for same modual tuesday 9am hehe
Monday night is worth a try thanks! I’m thinking 10:30 pm - 11pm start. Bit late for Europe though?

@@GazWilliams for +1hr euro, perhaps tad late? Okay for UK, but maybe better for your US audience, which you’ve got to think of too.
VariOS was the most disappointing abandonment ever! There is NO replacement for that technology
I agree. So much potential and so much disappointment
