  • This truck exceeded my expectations offroad...until the transfercase overheated. Ram really needs to work on this!

This is one of the baddest channels. I told you a while back as soon as I subscribed. You do real testing but without being annoying factor like the TLF guys from Colorado that they overload the TH-cam channel with repetitive low quality boring content. The content that you put is exactly what I look for when I go and look for a truck. You test the trucks and do a unbiased narrative. This particular truck is something that I have considered within the last two years. Keep up the good work

4 auto is for slick roads and very light off roading, like gravel. Works great. 4 high for medium speed muddy roads and going on them uphill. 4 low is for low speed rocks and muck. Locker is for any of those where you find yourself stuck and want to try a quick fix. Very simple. Works great, no overheating.

The 4wheel drive auto is really for winter, when you started off in 2 wheel drive and wished you were in in 4 high on a regular set up. The best thing about the 4 wheel auto is that you can drive normal speeds without hurting the transfer case. On my Nissan I’m restricted to 55-60 mph max in 4high or put it back in 2wheel drive and take my chances the back end won’t come round on slippery patches! Off-road on level ground I’m straight into 4high, any incline and I’m switching to 4low. Having the option of a rear locker is icing on the cake. Great review as usual EA.

Great video. That auto t-case is more for driving on poor road surfaces rather than off-roading, hence the option between auto and regular non-clutch transfer case.

4wd auto does not lock clutches completely and split the torque. 4 hi locks the clutch’s and splits torque 50/50. 4 auto will overheat clutches when being used were 4 hi should be used.

This video makes me really glad that I decided to go with my TRX instead of a rebel. I’ve taken my TRX through much more extreme terrain and have yet to experience any struggle.

I have a 2019 Rebel Quad cad, the 140 inch wheelbase helps, but the front end is so low that I lost my front license place holder the license plate. Similar to the way you hit your front bumper. Because of this I just did a Rough-country 3 1/2 inch lift with Rough-country uca's. In the back I used Ride Right 2 inch spacers. Love the truck and now I have decent ground clearance.

Great video. I have a '21 Rebel, no hydraulic suspension, but am about to put the leveling kit on it so I can go up one tire size without any rub, give it a bit more of an aggressive stance. Have yet to take it off road (have a Rubicon for that) but nice to know some tips for when that moment comes. Not sure where you film at but we have some terrain like that here in Utah. Again, great video.

I drive a 2022 Ram Rebel GT and I really enjoy driving it. I don’t have the air suspension but it rides really nice.👍

Do you know the part number for the front bash plate but in black?

  • @UNIXSOLJASysadminSyndicate

I drove 2.5 hours in 4hi on lose gravel there and back (Before I knew I prob shouldn't drive 4hi unless more slick) by mistake and never hurt my transfer case. 2020 Rebel.

You’d think in 4Hi or Low there would be a mechanical lock to eliminate the clutches. That’s too bad but good to know thanks!

dont you think it would be a better offroad ride without the air sus? air sus add like 500lbs to the truck. have you trieda ram with just coils? thanks

Is the steering pretty light (as far as how much effort it takes to turn the steering wheel)?
