The partner laments that you can’t leave them or else they will die, as a flower would without a pot, guilting you to stay. The irony is that, in the bridge, the flower breaks its pot and is simply placed in a new one.

to be honest if you close your eyes, she doesnt have any (foreign) accent at all. its just maybe the pronounciation of the "ch" words. but nevertheless much much better than i thought and other iranians in the diaspora. also the accent thing in the iranian context doesnt work as even in iran there are like 1723282 different accents...

You don't speak for an entire ethnic group, and I've seen Iranians praising Sevdaliza because they feel represented by her. Her clothes are completely irrelevant IMO. Unconventional outfits are a staple on COLORS.
Sevda has never claimed to be a technical vocalist. She's a bit more focused on visuals (she's part of a direction project now) and yes, that'll be subjective to the viewer. You need to remember that it's your opinion and not just call people "ignorant" and "snobbish" because they like art you don't.
Also to sing any professional music demands a lot of hard work that you dedicate your life for. Iranian music is still singing so it's not separate from what Italian Opera or Gospel would require for example. Singing is hard work and as a singer I know this.

This is a good cover of this beautiful love song of Googoosh which dates back from the late 60s/early 70s in Tehran. There is a video of Googoosh singing this song in a rehersal for her debut in a famous cabaret in Tehran. Its in black and white and its sublime. Seek it out.
