It's still strange to me how this game came into my possession back in the day as an American, but I've loved it from that first floppy disk demo. Cossacks 3 is good too, but I wish this one was still alive.
I barely played the games in this franchise because of the complexity but the music from this game, that I got from my uncle really sticked with me and to present day I am stil admiring the soundtrack.

Cossacks 3 in beginning was HD edition with new soundtracks, new missions and new bugs which I didn't mind but after so many updates and DLCs it's completely new game that I don't like. Shame that they lied that it would be only HD edition of Cossacks.
Track 13 is remarkable. I recall that one time I played Poland and the turks pikemen suddenly emerging from the dark side ( unexplored region) causing me much casualties and fear.

The main thing I remember about this game is how retarded the ships are. Most of them have side-mounted cannons, but the unit AI totally ignores this. If you order them to attack fleeing enemy ships, they start turning to shoot as soon the enemy is in range, which means the enemy will get out of range before they can shoot. So you have to micromanage them, or else they'll never shoot no matter how much faster than the enemy they are. There's also a kind of ship that has a front-mounted cannon, and a mortar. It also requires micromanagement because it will happily fire the mortar (which does hardly any damage) on a ship that is out of cannon range. These things are especially annoying in the English campaign, which consists of sinking fleeing Spanish ships. Also, cannons on land will gladly fire grapeshot at buildings when close enough, even though grapeshot does way less damage to buildings than cannonballs do. And don't even get me started on the imbalances between units and civs, or the total blackness that it has everywhere instead of fog of war.... But the music's catchy though, especially 17:03
Melkor too bad the game wasn't fully released in one go, it's more like an alpha version right now. Worst thing about it is the meh OST, copying the songs from their old games would've been very acceptable
Swedish theme 21:05 fits perfectly with the pipe organ at the start and then the dramatic music of a vicious army advancing to attack. The swedish army was raised under strict religion and belief in God. Dont fear if you are to be hit by deadly fire since its the will of God.
I have a feeling the last 2 tracks were the only ones where an actual orchestra played. All the other tracks seem to be made by keyboards and synthesizers.

I clearly prefer American Conquest and then Fight Back, maybe for 1 reason, "L" that give a better view when u command units during battle
American Conquest was great too but producing soldiers was a pain in the ass compared to Cossacks.
