It would be. And it would be a great learning tool on how to fix or upgrade in the future. I don’t know if you’ve seen any of my other videos on this but I am in the building process with this. I’ve gone brushless and also changed out the gearbox.
We just build an arduino robot kit and I think the arrma vortek will be our next project. Will be watching your other videos. Thank you for your content. Subscribed.
Just saw you have tried both this and the Gorgon. Which would you prefer between this and the gorgon? I’m interested in both and want to make it brushless. How would you compare them in driving, durability and ease to work on? I know the vortex’s can become 4wd but when I tried 2wd when I was younger it was very fun. I guess the Gorgon is easier to control in the air if both are 2wd?
@@t3floz from stock I liked the Gorgon better. It was faster and is much easier to work on. Also it took a good bit of bashing and handled it well. Actually the only nice thing about the Vorteks is the capability to do a 4wd conversion. Once I put that on, it was so much easier to control in the air.
@@t3floz yeah it is a lot better. It hooks up and now I can really hit the jumps with some speed. One of my newest videos is when I put 4wd in. You can see how much better it is.
@@t3floz it is much better. But comparing stock to stock the Gorgon is better. The only down side is you can’t convert the Gorgon to 4wd so in that case the Vorteks is better.
Was going to get this as my first RC car but I am unsure. Definitely feels abit slow. Alot of ppl recommended the 3S BLX or granite 4x4. I am not sure😅
It is slow and kind of a disadvantage being only 2wd. This would be more for someone young getting their first rc truck. I can’t wait to see what the upgrades I have do for it. Either of those options you are thinking of are a much better choice.
I got my Vorteks boost 7 days ago or so the same time you made this video and there is an option that you can get a Vorteks with a 3300mah battery and charger and there is a package witch you have that does not come with one witch the price will be a little less I got the one with the 3300mah battery package but I highly recommend going with a bigger battery and getting a bigger charge , I bought two Zeees 6500s and man she James
😂😂😂 On the real though. I drove my vorteks 4x4 on 3s and it was ok. Plenty fun for all. Now on 4s 130a and breaking axles and rear diff. So worth it!! - just upgrade to steel and aluminum drive train once things break❤
@@ReadytoRunRC 🤷♂️mine had the orange esc & it say 2-3s rite on it But im talking put a better esc in i took esc out of my XLH 9155 & then it is 4s capable just have to keep an eye on moter temps & batterys the esc low voltage cut doesn’t work on 4s so just need a li-po alarm so dont fry batterys
I'm running 6s still 2wd Thang smoking broke my traxxas Maxx first day this Arrma a real beast can't be stopped😂
Good looking buggy! Nice job arrma!
It does look great. They did do a nice job.
Pretty nice truck, dude! 😃
Looking forward to the mods! This is where the fun begins!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! Adding mods are a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see the results. Stay safe there too.
I swapped mine to a Spektrum brushless with 120 amp. Running 4s, she is a beast now
@@kennyc1101 my next swap is with a 120A so I can run 4S as well. 3S is fun but as always, I want more.
I can’t wait to see it brushless
I’m working on that now. And making it 4x4 too. Hope to have the video done soon.
I feel like this would be perfect for my 8 year old. He can build it up & it doesn't start out with too much power for em

@@ReadytoRunRCnoticed in your video that you where gonna put 4wd in. Did it become much easier to drive on the dirt since 2wd just spun out?

@@ReadytoRunRC just watched it and looks way better. Guess the vortex 4wd is better than Gorgon 2wd in how it handles and air control?

Thanks for the input and I would try those batteries but I'm converting to brushless right now and will be running a 3S battery.
3s if u want to do wheelies & powerslides & 4s if u want it to b somewhat fun for anyone over 9
Can’t run 3s or 4s with the stock esc. It doesn’t allow it. If you could, I would’ve ran it.
