Imagine being so wrong at the start you think Ryan Reynolds was the problem with the movie and wasn't funny.
it's practically a one-man show. the other performers do a great job, but they're bit players at the end of the day. i have no idea how you can justify giving the movie a good rating if you don't like what reynolds is doing. it's just crazy.

@@sindri1447 Yeah kinda, to be fair he was talking about the first film and I can understand that RR's humour is not for everyone or just in small doses. But RR is perfect for DP that's for sure.
I really like DP2, but at first felt it was than the same a the first DP. But it was just the overwhelming of all the jokes. The meaning of the stories behind (death, fate...etc...) are deeper and think it is a better film than the first DP. But DP2 could not have been released as a first film of a franchise, you have to keep build low and then keep on raising the bar. Yeah same recipe overall but add more ingredients. For having this much characters and action in 1 film it is a lot better than WW84.
It is worth remembering that Matt has come a long way from the beginning of the "My friend watches..." series. He's film making comments have overall improved.
Also, he is consuming these series of films at a rate (days, weeks) that does not provide the same visceral feeling than having to wait several years for them.
Some of the pop culture films are not to his taste, some are not.
I was curious as to what he would say for films from a different genre, I got the answer with "The Shinning". He is not there yet, and maybe will never be, but that's fine.

Jenna, Deadpool is an antihero. That means he fights bad guys and saves innocents, but he kills. He has no boundaries with that. Unlike Spider-Man who saves whoever he can

I think the thing people miss and that they may have marketed wrong is that this isn't a superhero movie, powers + suits don't equal superhero, it's 100% an Anti-Hero movie, because that's who deadpool is, and that's shown via the other characters, Colossus and Negasonic represent what a Superhero is/should be, while Francis and Angel represent villains, Deadpool is smack bang in the middle of both of them
I mean, it's still about a super powered comic book character. Saying it's "not a superhero movie" is pretty disingenuous. Kind of arguing semantics.
One thing that Deadpool is consistently referenced to is as the "merc with a mouth" because he's always spitting out comments, whether it's a sarcastic response to a serious comment, a joke that lands flat, or just a random thought: it's part of his character. It showcases how intensely his mind switches from one topic to another, sometimes even in the midst of a fight, giving us a peak into his mind. He's an anti-hero, a "bad guy" (living by a code that conflicts with what would be considered good) that is out to take out bad guys, in this case for selfish reasons.
I didn't have much exposure to Deadpool other than bits of comics that I had seen referenced online. Around when this came out, I ended up getting some of his comics and enjoying them thoroughly. The way I think about him is as a character that really gets to have a lot of fun in the superhero universe because he has a unique perspective, knowing he's in a fictional world. It's a lot of fun to see a character like that, along with an insane healing factor power and a background as a gun for hire, unleashed into the world.
Looking forward to seeing the Deadpool 2 reaction!

I think the jokes that come out flat, whether or not they were intentional in this movie, are a part of Deadpool’s character. He’s like a more extreme version of Spider-Man, where to him pretty much any moment is a good moment for a joke or a comment, whether cheesy or not.

He's the ideal of a hipster stereotype that can't exist because it's such a parody but he does unironically and doesn't realize why he's a punchline.

Cause he is as I can tell a hipster douche. He doesnt like things cause he likes them, he likes things cause they are "popular". He doesnt really like things like Deadpool or Suprehero movies because they are cool or his kind of thing, he likes them cause they are popular and the thing to like.

"Leaked" would mean that we're all pretending Ryan himself didn't get that into the internet's hands. They shot the end teaser post filming the movie after the studio realized how the film was trending so it wasn't just ryan adlibbing or hoping but an actual tease to what the screenwriters were already working on.

I was staring at the bottom of the screen during the final scene and looking for any reaction and almost yelled out when no one had any reaction at all as Deadpool went "Chika Chikka !"" so even referencing the music of the movie. Oh well, Now they can all do a reaction to it I guess.

Great video as always! When it first came out, Deadpool was the first movie in forever I was super hyped for that went on to exceeded my expectations. It's hilarious, action packed, touching and groundbreaking. Easy 10/10.

Holden`s gf has the best reviews out of them. She I feel like has the most original review she just tells what she actually feels about in the movie. Matt`s review always feels like a polar reviews to make his review stand out.
One of the big things people miss about this whole movie is that when Deadpool is going after Francis' "henchmen", no one answers the question of "where is Francis?" cause they have no idea who Francis is. They only know him by Ajax.
Watching Matt’s body change ad while eating pizza and drinking beer, really made me realize how good this pizza and beer is. 😭
At abouit 18:00, Pastor has missed a beat, Wade isn't being "Humble" when being asked what is Francis's name, he's not replying because he's hiding the matchstick he headbutt stole from Angeldust, if he speaks he will give away his whole plan (plot device) to escape.

Incidentally, Wade wasn't being humble in that last scene before the lab explosion. He was staying quiet while Francis taunted him, to conceal the match in his mouth.

Honestly I love this movie because I genuinely believe Wade and Vanessa love each other. With Tony Stark and Pepper Potts I never bought that they even liked each other because they were so different personality-wise. In Deadpool you feel that they’re perfect for one another because they enjoy the same things, have similar backgrounds, and actually have fun being around one another.
It’s surprisingly rare for a superhero movie to have a believable romance

The difference between Deadpool and other superheroes is that his own personal goals will always have more weight than saving innocent civilians.
When you do Deadpool II, you should also get reactions to the trailers since so much of the fun at the time was the build up.

Any criticisms of the humour and/or convenient plot points can just be explained by saying 'It's Deadpool though...' and that's what makes it so good. Also, i prefer Deadpool 2.
