What a wonderful and generous God we serve. He loves us to the point of giving His Body and Blood to us to be united to Him.
O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, All praise and all thanksgiving, Be every moment Thine!

In the Eucharist we receive Gods sacrifice, the actual body and blood of Christ, and in thanksgiving we sacrifice in the sense of giving all to God, our entire lives, the bread, the wine, our prayers, the music, the building, everything. This is the Lutheran understanding. The misunderstanding is about whether the body and blood is a sacrifice of Christ, by us, or by Christ, for us, and who is saying what about this. I'm not sure what the RC and Orthodox say today, but at least the Lutherans reacted against the language that said it is the priest who sacrifice Christ, and wanted to get people back to understanding that it is Christ who sacrificed for us, and this sacrifice is always freely given for us in the Eucharist. For some reason they thought the masses at the time were teaching people that the priest was sacrificing Christ. I think Lutherans were always aware of the sacrificial language used and it's connotations to the OT sacrifices, and in that manner affirmed the sacrificial element wholeheartedly, and even beautifully expounded on the idea, but were careful to delimit that the body and blood is purely Christs sacrifice, which we only receive.

The apostles faith was orthodoxy. Orthodoxy was the faith for 400 years.

It was Jesus Church not ortodox church, after 1054 you have ortodox church wich is split of Chatolic (universal) church. It was Chatolic church the one who broth eoangelium in to the whole world not ortodox. Even today you can not bring all ortodox churchies together at one table.
