After watching your video I made an indoor Flat TV antenna and it performed very good on UHF channel 26 (514 MHz). Signal quality is 100% and signal strength almost 70-75% outdoor and 55-60% indoor. No picture break-up.

I need to use an outdoor antenna, I only get one channel with an indoor antenna.
But if it only gets one channel then it's not very helpful when there are over 75 OTA channels in my area.
I bought the Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro. It picks up nearly all the OTA channels in my area.
I can only receive one channel indoors in my area. There are only 3 OTA channels available in my city. The demonstration was to show the performance of the antenna. Try making one, you’ll probably be surprised by the results.
Interesting, I have tried homebrew designs but this is the easiest I've seen. Question. If a couple square feet of foil works, what about a whole roll hanging in the attic? Would an antenna tuner be beneficial? Is there a more permanent way to connect / solder the leads to the foil? Time to hit the dollar store for some supplies! I have found that some of these flat antennas work adequate for fm reception as well.
Tape is probably sufficient over soldering. I suppose larger areas of foil might help, but who knows, it might pick up lower VHF stations too. Best wishes with your project and thanks for watching!
As antennas get bigger they work better until the dimension passes 1/2 of a wavelength. Once you pass that, odd things start to happen and the reception generally gets worse.
An antenna that is 1/2 wave length receives the best when the signal is coming in directly face on. As the antenna gets longer, the face on reception starts to decrease slowly and reception at an angle to the face increases.
A bowtie shape works a bit better than a square.
If you look up the RF frequency of the station you can do an better design as far as width goes.
The best antenna will be one half of a wavelength at the RF frequency.
You can figure out wave length from frequency in MHz with
Wavelength = 300 Meters / MHz
A thrift store painting you can stand makes a good thing to attach the antenna to the back of.
I’ve made antennas before by calculating the element length from the RF frequency.

how long does the DIY reaches??
Haven’t done a long range test. It’s for areas close to the broadcast towers. Maybe 10-15 miles at most. But depending on the area, could be further.
@@NorthcoasterHobby another question, my cabel is a bit thinner and has a little thing on it and it says filter system. i cut it off because than the part i cut of wont be long. will it still work??
@@Nimrod1212 Try it out and see. If it doesn’t work use another piece of wire or cable and an adapter like I used in the video.
