    For a long time i was trying to just rush everywhere, have good numbers, share my average speed with friends. I bought a road bike and i felt it was much faster, but the pain just went all over my body. Last few weeks i just stopped rushing, started enjoying the views, switched to treking bike with flat bars, and I'm planning to buy this kind of bar that you're recomending
    Thanks Davide!

    Thanks for the review. Much appreciated. Found those Togs you mentioned. I went ahead and ordered a pair. We will see how they work when I get the new bar.

    Great review. I’ve been using my h bars for 12months now and they’ve been great. Need adjusting to personal preference, but now dialled in. I recently added some S Qlab inner bar ends, which have given me another position to ride with. Thanks for your videos.

    I love my Jones bars. I have found noting better for long miles with a big load of gear. Thanks so much for the suggestion to rotate them rearwards to reduce hand numbness. I did this in small increments until my hand issues greatly improved. All your advice seems to apply to my bike-packing adventures. Thanks again Davide.

    great vid. I enjoy my jones bars although I have a number of bikes and I don't have them on all of them. yes, like everyone should be aware of personal fit is personal and when one does find the sweet spot of comfort it makes riding all the more enjoyable. I've found that not only the bars are important but the stem as well. shorter, longer, lower, higher, or adjustable. one needs to spend some time trying different layouts and positions to find their own personal position.
    thanks for the review. safe travels.

    Thank you for the insight to this Jones bar. i have been thinking of getting one for my gravel bike. The 45 angled grip looks comfortable.

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jojo! Thank you for the comment. If your bike has drop bars I wouldn't recomend switching to the Jones bar because you'd have to make a way big investment in changing the shifters as well.

    The loop seems to serve like a handlebar extender by itself and also some space to hang the water cup pouch between the loop to allow more clearance on the seat side of the bar?
    Any videos on handlebar grips and thumb shifters for Rohloff?

    I used a jones loop for 5 months on a Surly ECR. I never foundnthe right hight and angle for it given my own comfort, I did get a good price re selling it. worth a try, not a magic pill for a person who rides a lot.

    what is that bar in which your Garmin is installed? That seems quite neat

    • @DavideTravelli

      You can find thousands on Amazon just search something like bike extension bar or something like that. You should find different sizes.

    Thank you for an honest and thoughtful review. How long is the stem? Would an adjustable stem (raise up or lower down) be better?

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I'm not sure how long is the stem. I load the handle bar with some weight, not sure if an adjustable stem would add one more point to failure. Anyhow once you got a bike fitting done you lock in your main positions. I think some sort of suspended stem would be beneficial to long distance travellers but again probably not the best for me as I load the handlebar quite a bit.

    Great review! Are your bars the 2.5?

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciao and welcome! My version is the normal one that gives you about 0.5” of rise. I have a stack of headset spacers, I have risen the bar that way but if you lack of headset spacers and need the bar to be risen the 2.5 gives 2.5” of rise.

    Hi. Does using the jones bar alter the frame size that you need? I would usually have a large frame with standard bars.
    Best wishes for all your future adventures 🙂👍🚴

      It doesn’t. You’d use the very same size with a Jones as well. Safe rides!

    I'm curious what saddle are you using to cover the long distances

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the Americas and Africa and the first part of Europe I used a Brooks B17c. I tried the Brooks Cambium as well but hated every minute.
      For the last 9,000Km I'm using a selle sanmarco and it's much more appropriate to mi sit bones size. We all have different butts what works for me might not work for you and viceversa. I was not able to try many saddles because I have no money, maybe out there there is a much more confortable saddle for me but...🤷‍♂️

    Hi Davide! is it possible for the Jones H-bar can be faster? and have good maneuvering in off-road and traffic?

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's definitely better than a standard flat bar for manoeuvrability but I doubt it makes the bike any faster.

    • @UnimagiStudio
      @UnimagiStudio ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavideTravelli I see...even in aero position can't be faster? I was thinking of buying this one. I have a plan to cut the handlebar shorter to make it more aero. but if you said can't make it faster. I will think again.

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I dont think the scope of the Jones bar is to go faster, it's more about enjoying the ride and have fun with better handling and control. In my option this wont make you any faster but then again it's not my area of expertise, I wouldnt want you to spend money for the wrong reason.

    • @UnimagiStudio
      @UnimagiStudio ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavideTravelli I see. yeah, thank you!
      I'm still using a flat bar right now. so far, I have modified it with ergon and the bar end with Ritchey comp. I'm more all-rounded. touring, gravel, commuter, and speed. just the biggest problems not solved on my right shoulder. sometimes feel not comfortable when reaching 50 km. still, find a way best setup to solve my right shoulder problems.

    Hi, excellent review! Can you put a link or spell the company name that does the hoods to put on the bars. I tried to find them but not luck. I don’t usually ride with bar ends. I’m used to ride on the hoods, but you’re right, when it come to off-road bikepacking I’d rather have more control with flat bars. Plus jones bars are super comfy. Thanks again man!

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ciao and welcome! I use two snack bags on the left hand side and a jumbo bag on the right hand side ( review here: th-cam.com/video/vkwsDNMdbE0/w-d-xo.html ) on the front side I have a revelate design harness: th-cam.com/video/78356kt9F9o/w-d-xo.html
