    I was 7 years old when Reagan became President. Never really knew why he was so popular. But looking back on this, I can see and understand why now. We need somebody like Reagan now in the GOP.

    I am here tonight watching President Reagan give his State of the Union address rather than watching Obama give his. I miss President Reagan.

    Thank you for uploading this. It's refreshing to see this - an actual president who upholds the constitution and the nation's beliefs instead of trying to turn it into a socialist paradise. I very much loved Reagan's stance on the unions too. We need someone with a spine now...

    I find it interesting that the GOP is accused of not caring about the working class and only catering to business owners and wallstreet brokers, yet in every speech Regan talks about the economy, he talks about his plans to help everyone across the economic spectrum, not one particular part of it.

    Sounds like he had everything right except the tax cuts. The debt increased by 230% under his admin: ~1 trillion to 2.3 trillion. If he didn't love tax cuts so much he may have set the country on the right path.

  • @TomKilworth

    Eliminate most regulations so $$ can be made and many jobs created which was the direct result jobs and $$$ were made, which lasted all the to the mid 2000 until greed took over, and the man admin in charge wasn't able to see this and make adjustments. Romney may be the closest we'll get to having another Reagan, but yes there can never be another.

      +Frankie Bee Lol Romney may be the closest we'll have to another Reagan? Establishment Republican does not equal Conservative. Not even close. Maybe a real conservative that upholds the Constitution like Cruz can use Reaganesque leadership to fix the mess we're in now

  • @REVKOEHLER
    @REVKOEHLER 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Reagan is the ONLY President who told the truth on spending cuts. "We are cutting only the rate of increase". Obama does the same thing but makes it sound like he is cutting the debt. Back at this time we had one Trillion debt. It boggles the mind that our leaders have created the debt we have today. Should leaders make things worse?

    @trafficlight9199 You are confusing greed and criminal behavior with individualism. Government isnt the answer. And if FDR was never born, would we still have a welfare state?

    What does "promoted reduction of poverty via Trickle-Down Economics" even mean?
    A president shouldn't "promote the reduction of poverty", he enact policy that ACTUALLY does reduce poverty. The fact is, the poor got poorer under Reagan, and the rich got infinitely richer. Not to mention, the middle-class even shrank. The only people Reagan's policies helped were those who were already well-off. Oh yeah, and crime way up. There is no such thing as "trickle-down", that shit is make believe.
