I'd say the only certified rockstar coaches in CFB right now are Kirby and Dabo. Both have won multiple natty's. There's a handful of coaches that are a National Championship away from reaching rockstar status: Ryan Day, Sark, Mike Norvell and Lincoln Riley.
Gonna be quite frank with you. I really like your show. I even tried Wickle's Pickles when I was back in the US last year and like them. What I appreciated and enjoy most about your show are that you can offer insight into to teams, players and coaches that I don't get a lot of other places. You are uniquely positioned as a former SEC player and current broadcaster that know quite a bit about the insides of college football. That's what I want to hear. I can't keep up with every team in the SEC, but listening to your show helps me understand other teams better so I know what to expect when my team plays them. It gives me a better feel of who is for real and who is for show. I really like the way you honor players by sharing personal stories about them, e.g. Ray Davis. I can go anywhere to hear a bunch of takes and opinions. Maybe this works better for the metrics & algorithms, but I have to wonder with so many others doing that, is it sustainable. Lean into the niche that few can compete with you in. That's just my 2 cents. And not having the WLOCP on your top 5 rivalries was a miss. I understand it's opinion, but pretty much the same reasons you excluded it, were all excepted in allowing the Red River Shootout.
I was confused. You gave a list of superstar coaches, but the title says rockstar coaches. Two different things. Kirby is a superstar but not a rockstar. Brian Kelly is neither.
Once again based on answers, I don’t think people understand your? I think u mean, who moves the needle now in CFB based on name value like a Saban, Paterno, Bowden, Bear Bryant? How about no one!! Only maybe Harbaugh who is gone now as well
Dabo is not at the level of Smart. You can’t be a rockstar coach and have the losing seasons like Dabo is having. Beginning to think the only reason he won is because of Lawrence and other special players he had . He doesn’t belong up there with Kirby . Kirby is on a level by himself
Dude, I had a modicum of respect for your opinion til you put Smart and Dabo in the same category. The only reason Dabo ever got to the National Title game is because he’s in a crap conference and dominated it. Wooohooo te do. Hard and permanent unsubscribe.

Kirby is amazing but literally the GA fan base said Kirby couldn’t win the big game until 2021 and even then it wasn’t until they won the Natty title bc Saban and Young skull drug them in the SEC title. It’s fairly recent that even GA fans feel Kirby is a rock star.
As a Dawg fan, yeah Dabo is up there with Smart. They have both won two Nattys and I can’t say Clemson aren’t legit - they won playoff series with players Dabo recruited. Done deal.

A lot of fans dislike Lane Kiffin but he is very likable to transfers and High School recruits.
Kiffin is now our Personality SEC HC, a witty individual he is.
All Ole Miss fans are positive for Lane, and his personality fits for the Rebels. Bama fans would not allow him any slack if he was there.
Tier 1: Kirby and Dabo. Multiple NCs
Tier 2: Kelly, Brown, Riley, Day NC or multiple CFP appearances.
Tier 3: Lanning, Elko, Freeze, Sarkisian, Norvell, Leipold, Venables, Kiffin, Heupel, Christobal ascending with potential to get to tier 2.
