Can you give some tips on how to put the telescope on the mount? I never used a dobson before and it is very confusing. The handles are small or something and I can not put it in the hole of the telescope.
@@LeiaKuu I'll probably get the 10 inch dobsonian since I won't be transporting it a lot . Both the 8 and 10 inch dobsonians have 1200 mm of focal length, so with the same eyepiece, the 10-inch provides brighter images. The 10 inch telescope will provide images ~56% brighter than the 8 inch one. It's also a bigger apeture which means more light which in turn has brighter images. If the money isn't a problem, I would buy the 10-inch one.
Hello, I would like to buy a dobson, but before I would like to know if the support system is robust in the long term and how do you mount the eyepieces? Thank you in advance for your answer ! (Sorry for my english, I'm a french woman)
Hi, dobson is virtually indestructible :), control is intuitive, inserting eyepieces simple. The eyepiece is inserted into the focuser and tightens. Some eyepieces will need extension tubes, others will not. Dobson is a good choice to start. I recently bought a motorized dobson, it's much more comfortable. Dobson is a good choice in terms of price / performance ratio. I am sorry for my english, I am from Czech Rep. and my English teacher was one lesson before us. ;)
For some reason my base is not rotating smoothly as there are 3 pieces of plastic that rubs against the other surface what am i doing wrong here ? those 3 pieces of plastic are of same thickness as that round white piece that goes between two round surfaces.
goto takes away the excitment of the hunt for stars and planets - if u get a go to - you will look at a star for 60 seconds and just move on the the next star
i muted your video and put on diamond d and the psychotic neurotics - check one two. it suited this video more, anyway nice video man. im gonna get the same or 12 inch. not sure yet but probly the 10 inch
@@mr.person5788 I can turn the volume off to avoid the music but spoken instructions would have been useful. I muffled through the printed instructions and put it all together.
Im getting the 10 too. Can't wait!
It is perfect for visual observation. But as the saying goes. The larger the diameter, the better.
I have had the 10 inch for a couple of months and its great!
UPDATE: I just got the 10, and im getting it on Wednesday!!! so stoked!

Great video. How difficult is it to carry outside? I assume you move it in 2 parts but do you find each easy/manageable/difficult? Thanks.

@@Astronoobak I'm in czech too, I am getting the 10" soon. and recomendations for upgrades or thing to make it better than it already is?
Was planning to get a Celestron Nexstar 8SE.. which one is better? 10 inch Orion would be better than 8SE?
thanks m8!

you have mounted the bottom base board upside down
Can you carry it in one piece?
mines dont swivel its solid just can't holder or carry it looks like have to take the screws out from the springs to carry it
The go to version is $1050 dls is it worth the technology or the old style is good enough?
Go to is useless. If you are buying a big telescope like this you should know where the planets and other objects are.

Awesome scope. Could a motorized drive be mounted to the base if you wanted to?
Now I have motorized mounted.
