In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Michael Vaughan. He is an English cricket commentator and former cricketer who captained the England cricket team from 2003 to 2008. He is considered one of England's most successful cricket captains, leading the team to their famous Ashes victory in 2005.
In today’s episode, we talked about the 2024 IPL and his opinions on Indian cricket players. Exactly 💯 RCB management is like huh
Its easy. IPL team is 7 indians and 4 foreigners players. So spending 65% to indian players and 35% to foreign players is the common sense. But year after year RCB management spend more than 10 crores stupidly on foreign players like Jamieson, tymal mills and Cameron green. Imagine a team like RCB needs player like natarajan not cameron green. Natarajan went for 2 crores in auction RCB management didn't even try for him. RCB need experienced indian bowlers like bhuvneshwar kumar, ashwin but they never go for them.
good teams focus on scouting and developing unknown talent. RCB is a team which playing IPL just for the commercial purpose. Their sole purpose is to mint money by creating brand value. This team is not serious about creating players and building their career. They enjoy the fame of the BIG 3. This is the reason they always go for some big name player and frame them along side Kohli as a part of BIG 3. They have a rubbish auction strategy, often go after key players from other teams who got released in mega auctions. Teams like KKR, SRH, MI find players and develop them. Look at KKR, they have Abhishek Nayar who works closely with unknown talents to help them build their career. This is reason we see every season they pull up some unknown talent. Meanwhile in RCB the Indian talent are often shadowed by the fame of the BIG 3. Their fans are crazy and can go to any levels to defend their BIG 3 and bash other players for their poor performance.

Yes you're right. First of all RCB didn't even need faf du plessis. They already had devdutt padikkal a local player who performed well, won emerging player, who's a leftie perfect opening along Virat. But they picked faf for brand building.

Interesting fact !! Man, I really like Virat Kohli but sometimes it feels like the T20 format doesn't suit him..look at the approach of SRH and KKR, modern day T20 cricket has changed significantly. T20 cricket will be ruled by players like Klassen, Ab, Gayle, Head.. RCB makes 50-60 in the first 6 overs while others are making 80-90.. this changes the dynamic completely

RCB is only hype. That’s it. With one player you can win a match but never a tournament.
The best chance they had was in 2016, where they lost miserably. No hopes for them in upcoming seasons too, until something drastically changes.

Simple , they never had strong bowling attack. Also they don't have a strong middle order. It's always Kohli , Gayle and de villiers. They never bother to develop more middle order batsman. Simple example , Shivam Dube was in rcb. They just wasted him but see CSK , they understood his game and making use of his full potential

Shane Watson used to play for RCB and he didn't perform well . But as soon as he went to CSK he scoring centuries and took CSK to 2 finals. Same with Shiva dude. Something about RCB makes players perform badly.
When and ONLY WHEN RCB get their BOWLING SORTED OUT, RCB WILL WIN. As simple as that 🤷
Their batting technique as well, adjusting accordingly and to each match and giving them roles. It’s clearly not there. It’s very simple, when batters give some space to defend, bowlers can try to do something, yes bowling definitely needs improvement but batting too.
Head, Klaasen & Abhishek Sharma are hitting at almost 200 SR. These guys are hitting 50s in 20-25 balls & 100 in 40-45 balls. Whereas Virat is behind orange cap and plays at least 35-40 balls for a 50 & 65-70 balls for a 100. Siraj as always, gives 50-60 runs in his 4 overs. And these are our retained players.!
RCB will never win a cup until they let Virat & Siraj go from the team. This may sound harsh, but it's actually true..!

Off all the teams in IPL, I like KKR the most, iconic logos, beautiful unique jerseys and the best team song till date. Flaming Helmet and now the knight with shield, it looks the best. Creating such branding 10-12 years back, KKR was well ahead in branding compared to any other teams in IPL
There are two things that I want to say.
1. I really liked the old black and gold Jersey . I know the purple one also looks great but i kind of like the black one more.
2. KKR was the first and only team to have gold in their jersey, golden pad and golden helmet and even golden gloves from Wriddiman Saha. Unfortunately from the next season every other team started copying us.. RCB added gold, then MI followed by so many teams..

I wish there wasn't so much focus and discussion on just one of the teams which happens to "never win the IPL". Take the spotlight off of RCB so that the owners are starved off what they want and then start to focus on what is important i.e. Team building. As long as RCB is discussed somewhere everyday, the owners don't care if they won or lost.

You're already ahead of everyone, if you have best player on planet in your team. You neeed to build right supporting ecosystem to lift trophy, make necessary changes, where everyone can collectively contribute to team.
RCB relies heavily on VK, almost 60 to 70% of team score comes from his bat, so he can't freely play, has to play extra cautiously, because if he's gone, then they practically got no chance to register big totals, 190+.
RCB average powerplay is 50 this season, fall of wicket is 1.8, slightly higher than other teams. They're formidable team, where very close to winning tournament twice in the past.
If I were head coach; would bring in Karan Sharma into squad, he can bat too, could score few runs at no.7 or 8. Move Maxwell up the order as Opener with Faf, VK at no.3, DK no.4, Rajat no.5.
Maxwell at middle order isn't performing well, team needs him, if moving up the border works they could score extra 30 to 40 runs in power play, will put less pressure on middle order, and they would take less risks to score runs, as they would already register good score and just have to keep scoring pace and get more runs in the end.
I hope we see RCB in payoffs, tough to win 7 out ot last 9 games, hopefully they'll pull it off. Good Luck RCB!

No core group (every team has 6 to 7 core players)
No stable batting or bowling order
What sir michael vaughan said about RCB team was right.After 2016,they never reached the finals.and I want to add some more things to it point by point.
1.Trusting and reliability on more on overseas player.
2.Purchasing a player for branding and endorsement not for performance e.g.Cameron green.
3.Lack of core indian players.
4.Voids in every department I.e.Batting,bowling and fielding. 5.Dictatorship of the management I.e.Didn't allow a captain and coach to work according to the way they want.
And i believe they should work on these drawbacks and removed otherwise they 'll never gonna win a single ipl tournament.

For this season try out new things. CSK plays with technically sound batters in middle order (Jinks etc) .. why not Kohli in middle order which opens up having options at top.. don’t go by names, if you want to drop Siraj do that.. for next season don’t retain anyone, go for a new team without any legacy

That's why it is high time for the IPL committee to introduce genuine football like transfer market twice a year at least so that if a player really wants to win a trophy and doesn't waste his time on the bench then he can always pursue other teams to buy him.. Then slowly players will try to get transferred to a champion team and indirectly teams like RCB will then need to think about winning something.

End of the day its business for them, what other team makes by winning the trophies RCB achieves that by just branding by itself as a premiere star studded team, but there were players who used to rescue and save for most part, now the game has changed you don't have ABD or Gayle, Kohli can't score at 250 strike rate, they have been one dimensional but now, they should play smart with proper tactics and game plan, fans are tired with the drama, hope they do something next auction and don't bottle it down like always.
Take Virat Kohli out of that team, nobody will expect RCB to win even one match, then no more discussions about why it is not winning trophies.

Name one Indian talent to come out of RCB in recent history, be it batting or bowling. You can't, cuz there is none and the fact that the highest Indian run-scorer for RCB after Virat is Rahul Dravid who last played for the franchise in 2010 backs that fact. As for their bowling, the less said the better. Also, the fact that players who did well for other franchises struggled at RCB or struggled at RCB but went to be good for other franchise says a lot.
Shivam Dube is the perfect example. He went from being a nobody to a superstar in CSK after not doing anything in RCB. CSK have developed a reputation of developing new talent or rejuvenating older players once they join the team. Rutu, Rahane, Dube, Rayudu are all examples of that. Meanwhile RCB has developed the complete opposite reputation.

If that happens then I think Virat will get most of the blame and I think he deserves it. The reason why I say that is because it's well known that RCB is only popular because of him and the fans don't actually care about the team so Virat has a lot of leverage to demand that they should build a competent team to compete or he'll leave and force them to take winning seriously but clearly that's not happened and Virat has happily stayed despite them having no chance of winning.
