Made 12 last year and am on number 3 of 2021. Have several on my list, probably Modular Inlay Wrap next. Working on a DK Painting Honeycombs at the moment. Your Fantastitch is wonderful, well done.

Great video! My first Stephen West shawl was Shawlography. I loved it so much; I started thinking about Fantastitch. But I finished Shawlography just in time to do the Cabled Trellis KAL so I did that second and now at last, I'm casting on Fantastitch. Your shawl looks amazing!

My first West knit was the Clockwork scarf/shawl. Loved the process so much that I made several more to gift at Christmas that year 😄

I've knit 9 West Knits shawls. The first was The Doodler, and my favourite is Exploration Station. That was my first time knitting brioche, and it was easier than I thought it would be. Stephen explains it so well, and has a tutorial video. You should give it a go, your Fantastitch is stunning!
Woah! I barely have room in my closet for 2! Haha glad to know brioche isn’t as hard as I think! It’s definitely one of my resolutions to learn it this year!
I'm working on my first Stephen West shawl, Exploration Station, and am loving it. First time knitting brioche and I've definitely made mistakes, but I love learning new techniques. I'm hoping Stephen does a shawl knitalong in the Fall...I missed last year's. Glad to have found your channel 😀

I loved this video - and love Stephen & Penelope. I started knitting again after a 20+ year break. Before that, I had been knitting for 20+ years. So much for the background story; I ordered the Botanic Shawl kit - and even though they say it is easy, I had to start that darned thing at least 15 times or more. It was going along fine but I made a mistake that I was unable to fix so I kept knitting. Now it looks pretty good - still working on it. Some of Stephen's techniques are things I've never heard of before so this is like learning to knit all over again. I applaud your work on that shawl - it is stunning. I'd like to make the Curvette or Cozy Corner - but now I'm tempted to make the one you feature here. Thanks.

I've knit maybe 15/17 WW shawls. The first was Boneyard Shawl and Slipstravaganza is on needles but isn't enough! On my queue Westknits Bestknits 3 😅😅😅
A great breakdown of how to choose a Stephen West shawl to knit. I am doing the Shawlography KAL and it is my first of his knits. Lots of new techniques but his videos are amazing for support. I am loving the whole process. Thanks, glad I found you!
Yes! One of the best things about his designs are all the new techniques you pick up along the way!
I like Westknit's Designs, especially because he usually includes some interesting and new techniques I never even heard of before. Of course his colorwork is divine and he always mixes it up. My first brioche project was his "Texture Time Shawl", which is a lot of fun to knit BUT the latvian braid takes aaaages. Looks beautiful though ;) My first westknits shawl was the Color Craving Shawl.

Exploration Station is to this day my favorite shawl. I've made it twice, and could easily have made more. I'm embarking on the fantastitch soon, and expect some of the same happening... Dotted Rays was fun because I made it out of scraps, but had I done it in one colour, I would never have finished it! Similarly Triangle Parade was for me incredibly boring, and I made a shorter version just to finish it... It might be 'corona-boredom' that makes me crave changes in the pattern... I can't wait starting my Fantastitch after seeing yours. It gorgeous 😍
Exploration station is GORGEOUS! haha I feel you. My first west knit design was Quake and it was very repetitive. Love the outcome but fantastitch was definitely more fun :)
do you model for his designs? if not, you should... that shawl hugs you so perfectly! i look like a mistake in anything neat.
I enjoyed your video very much. I have Steven West's Boneyard shawl and Radiance shawl. Looking for a good yarn to begin with, it deserves the nicest yarn I can afford!
I have knit several Stephen west designs. I have done the boneyard shawl, the slipped rib scarf, dotted rays self striping, dotted rays speckled fade, groove, colonnade, clawed, yes checks, the snow flurries hat, Pom Pom it, and boardwalk. I am currently working on vertices unite, bedrock, and prowl.
I also knit the zoolandia shawl

Your shawl is beautiful! I’ve never knit a Westknits shawl before, but I’ve been knitting mostly garments this past year and I think I’d like to try a shawl soon for something different ☺️
This was only my second shawl! It was a breath of fresh air from knitting garments, super fun to knit. Plus, no seaming! Haha

I’m using dark grey for main color and four color pops, all in pure finnsheep single ply wool. 🤩 You can check my project on my Instagram @annijuutiknits. I also bought the yarn for the Painting Bricks sweater for my husband, hopefully my marriage will survive! 😅

I don't want to be nitpicky, but since you asked for feedback: Personally, I found the background music a little bit too loud/intense. I sometimes had difficulties understanding you because of that. The video's structure and your editing skills are top-notch though. Very professional! Keep it up!

@@CletusChan i dis fantastitch shawl first , then i did dotted rays, exploration station, bubble and brioch, chevron shenanigans, winter lights shawl and now i am working on the 2020MKAL. Slipstravaganza. The instructions are always very clear. You just need to follow the row by row and the result is beautiful

What a lovely, clear video. What beautiful knitting...inspiring. Unfortunately I can't listen to it because it has some irrelevant, ugly white noise in the background. I am disappointed
