    I needed this so badly. I am a huge fan of physical therapists. I had a frozen shoulder for over a year and they fixed it in 5 weeks. It stayed fixed for 3 years now.
    I put a pillow or lap desk on my lap or even the table when I’m knitting.

    This vid is so valuable. It should be mandatory viewing for all knitters.

      I think so too! Gotta stay healthy so we can knit more!

    I really enjoyed your video. I have been knitting since I was 4 years old; I am turning 60 in May '24 so I guess I have been crafting quite some time! I also suffer from fibromialgia so the pain when I knit is elevated slightly. The exercises given here were so useful except the final stretch which was beyond me but the thought gave me a chuckle anyway. Thank you.😄

    So helpful!! I had to pause and share it! I play piano and violin too so a lot of issues with overuse, thank you for the tips.

    Thank you. I’ve had to totally stop kmitting after I developed painful Bouchards nodes on two of my fingers on either hand. I would love to return to knitting but I just dont know how it would be possible. My OT said to knit for maximum 30 minutes but stop if it hurts, but it hurts straight away!!

    Thanks so much for the super helpful video! I loved the longer length format, and found it both educational and also interesting enough to keep my attention for the entire time span!

    I have arthritis in several joints and knitting can aggravate my thumb pain. I have a TENS (trans-epidural nerve stimulation) device that is a great drug-free way to relive the pain.

    Ah this is great, but the pain that I suffer so badly from is in my hands. I do warm up exercises but still my thumbs and fingers hurt! Wrists, shoulders, neck etc all ok

    Thank you Cletus and Andrea. I found this video through Andrea’s IG feed, always informative and helpful. Some constructive feedback for future interviews, I would prefer that there weren’t any pop-up text or emojis. They were distracting and then eventually annoying. Please do take this as a constructive rather than critical suggestion. Thanks for this!

    Great topic. Hope to hear your " learning to knit" experience. See some of your finished work. Have you tried or considered patterns from Mina Philip the knitting expat. Her persian inspired cowls are beautiful.

    I had backpain for knitting 5 days straight, knitting is addictive. I had to stopped for a while to recover. And search and found this video. I didnt encounter back pain from crochet ever, been crocheting for 5 years, when i started knitting then i encountered problems. Wonder whats the difference? Knitting requires more of our muscle strength than crochet.

    • @chelsym3459
      @chelsym3459 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had this problem too! I'm not sure, but I know with knitting because I am new to the craft I am a lot more tense than when I crochet, so I put more strain on myself. I also lean forward more to look at it. I've had more pain with knitting than crochet, but I am guessing it is the way I am holding the needles and knitting.

    • @serene4675
      @serene4675 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chelsym3459 once you get used to it, use metal needles so it will glide and learn to relax your hand, ive learned now and i dont feel pain anymore plus im using metal needles or good wood
