Musiana Talk | Kalikaprasad Bhattacharya remembers the legendary "Hemanga Biswas"

In this musiana moment, Kalikaprasad one of the lead singers of the Folk band 'Dohaar' reflects on a song of separation by the legendary Hemanga Biswas. The singer/musician relates his experience of becoming uprooted to this song that evokes the pain, loneliness and isolation of the uprooted in an alien country with the partition of Bengal in 1947. The talk takes us through a musical journey that echoes the existential crisis of our lives and times.
About Hemanga Biswas:
Hemango Biswas was a singer, songwriter and composer known for his advocacy of people's music, drawing from the rich genres of folk music both Indian and Western. His songs inspired generations of musicians in the tradition of people's music and connected millions of listeners to music that stays with you forever and makes you question the politics of our times.
Hemanga Biswas was born on January 14, 1912 and died in November 1987.
