I think it's meant to teach Randy that he needs to stop trying to prove something. The Nomicon doesn't want to be impressed, it wants to help you save the world. By taunting it, it shows that Randy still has a long way to go before he becomes the best ninja he could be, and it retaliates not out of petty revenge, but to teach that a ninja must stay calm, collected and never be one to prod the bull, if that's an expression.
I like to think that Randy is the Nomicon's favourite ninja so far (even though there's been like 200) I feel like Randy was one of the few who treated the Nomicon like an actual person and not just a book to guide you.

Either Mac antfee pieced together why old ninjas didn’t surface or somehow discovered what the ultimate lesson did and avoided the wipe. Or the Nomicon thought he did so bad as a ninja that his experiences were not worth keeping to teach other ninjas (but granted it kept his mistake of him locking that poor kid in the freezer)
What’s even funnier is that people can write in the nomicon seen in the second episode where someone put “YOU GOTTA DE-STANK EM BRO” so it’s very possible that these were other ninja just talking to eachother through the nomicon and making fun of eachother💀

When the first ninja caught the sorcerer’s hand with the scarf and hitting him with the tengu fireball, that is the exact same as in the time travel episodes, so basically, Randy caused the ninja legacy. randy really shouldn't have taken a shortcut with the art of healing. anyway, i personally think that nomicon will be less cryptic as randy continues to fulfill his duty. heck maybe some stuff it will be straightforward. (like stating that it doesnt play cupid XD)
I really hope that if we get another season we get more moments showcasing how the nomicon cares about randy, like the nomicon actually being worried more for him or protecting him more, maybe even having regrets for being too rough *cough* or too petty *cough* on randy, and maybe, just maybe putting pillows underneath the spot randy falls on so he stops hitting himself so much. Edit : Also I'm kinda interested in the sorcere's story before he became the sorcerer, like what's the reason for him wanting that ball - yes I know they already kinda gave a reason, it was because he was poor and wretched before but I would like him to have reminiscens of the past every now and then - not giving him a redemption arc because I don't think he was supposed to fill that role. Also, where did the balls come from- it's such an interesting mistery that I must know more about

Kinda sad that my boi Randy doesn't have at least a little bit of abs and arm muscles from all the exercises(jumping and swinging around) and fighting he's been doing a little bit of a let down but oh well it is what it is I guess Edit: And another thing why hasn't he been using other Nomicon techniques like is just a shame that almost all the techniques are just for 1 episode ugh he would have been so much stronger and strategic on utilizing them in battle and even combining them like think about it If there's a technique where he can use lightning(let's face it there has to be one since there are electrical balls) combine that with fire and you got a big explosion with a paralysis if the enemy didn't take that much damage or even water where he a regular hydro palm and there's electricity going in it and it shocks them into submission ugh there's so much more I wanted to see him do😩😩
