HISTORICAL FACTS ABOUT OKE ERI
Oke Eri Kingdom is the referred old Ijebu kingdom that archeologists after researches proved to have being existing since 8th century.
The town first settlement predates the arrival of Bilikisu Sugbon and were referred to as the original Ijebu kingdom.
The first migration to Oke Eri was led by the legendary warlord called ALEYO who the tradition described to have vanished into the ground like Obanta in Awa and Ogunelegi in Ijebu Igbo.
The arrival of BILIKISU with her over 200 slaves turned Oke Eki to the first economic centre of all the ancient settlements.
According to the tradition, the famous economic epic centre responsible for the attraction of lots of other migration to the area.
The first migration out of Oke Eri after the death of BILIKISU and ALEYO settled in the present Ijebu Ode and they are the people Olu-Iwa met after his arrival with his troop.
The water used to cure the blindness of Oduduwa was said to have been taken from Oke Eri, according to the legend and the river exists till date.
After the death of BILIKISU a new revolution evolved as several other people migrated to Oke Eri and the area later grouped into different huts.
These ancient seperate settlements later constituted the kingdom that originally consisted 15 autonomous settlements before the collapse. There names are:

OKE ARIYO
MIYO
OKEMOSU
OKE DEDE
OKE LAJOKEN
OKE EKI ARAGA
GBARUKE
OKE EKI ONIGBA OFA
DERO
IDEYINBO
ILORO
IPEREMO
All the above settlements have the history that birth their names, though most of them have gone into extinction.
These ancient autonomous settlements after several years of existence later united to form a single larger entity to resist the slavery invasion and henceforth formed OKE ERI KINGDOM.
The collapsed early huts are available for archealogical studies to corroborate the established facts of the years of existence.
Later in 18th century, Sango shrine was brought by Erelu Otumowo as a seal and instrument of establishment after the amalgamation.
The BAALESHIP of Oke Eri came into existence after the arrival of British expeditionists into the Ijebu area and the last Baale died in 2018.

3. Pa Odunlami
4. Pa Olugbosi 1976 - 2018
Oke Eri is bounded on the west by IPERIN Community, on the East by Ogbogbo Community, on the North by IMOPE and on the South by IWESI/IJARI Communities.
Oke Eri kingdom is a host town to the Biblical figure, QUEEN OF SHEBA also called BILIKISU SUNGBO.
The old footpath from EJIRIN to APOMU during the slavery era passed through Oke Eri before the new road constructed.
OKE ERI originally was a potential POTTERY town which contributed to the economic activities of the old Ijebu kingdom.
Up till 1913, the Shoshos, Fulanis, Kanuris, Ibadans, Oyos, and Ekiti had used the old path through Oke Eri to Ejirin market.
The first private College of Health Technology in Nigeria is situated in OkeMosu, one of the quarters in Oke Eri kingdom.
The Bilikisu Eredo in Oke Eri has been approved as the National Tourist Centre, an attraction to the prestige of the town. and the entire Ijebuland.
The Bilikisu Shrine has turned to yearly Mecca and Jerusalem for believers who seek spiritual intervention through prayers. No fetish ritual is perform and not allowed.
All previous Awujales until around 1954 were said to had visited the Bilikisu Shrine in Oke Eri in yearly tradition to perform traditional rite and chant prayers for general Ijebu Kingdom, the practice which had been abolished.
The fame of Bilikisu Commerce center in Oke Eri, according to the Legend was reason behind the attraction to many migrations to Ijebu region from Ile Ife.
Among the early settlements after the death of Bilikisu were IMOPE, IPERIN, OKENUGBO, ODONUGBO (now Ijebu Igbo), ODO OLUIWA (now Ijebu Ode), ODO LAPO (now Ilaporu), IMUSIN and others came into existence later after the arrival of OBANTA.
