  • Picking up from where we left off on AirVenture 2023 - Part 1, we depart from KUNU (Dodge County Airport) just 45 miles south of OshKosh with enough fuel to stay in the holding pattern a few times if need be. We made some new friends at KUNU while waiting for fuel, and we all decided to fly the Fisk Arrival together. We head out from KUNU and head west toward the Endeavor Bridge, where the Fisk Arrival begins. From there, we stay in a line of airplanes as far as the eye can see in front of us, and behind us.
We arrive after a go around behind our fiends' Musketeer, and land to the immense spectacle that only OshKosh can bring!
This video was intended to be just the content from the Fisk Arrival portion of our trip. On the next video we will show some highlights from the event, and then take you on the journey back home!

Well put together video. You guys seemed so calm but I was feeling the tension on that approach and landing….well done. Subscribed to your channel after seeing you on Dan’s video the other night.

Like your high quality videos with all the radio communication! Good job! Oshkosh arrival is always tense - good job remaining calm and getting it done. I have done it three times and it is always challenging and unique. I will be joining the TL family by the summer with the new Sparker.

Congratulations on your new Sparker. You must be the first US owner of that model! So Awesome! A Sparker is certainly on my short list of airplanes when we decide to upgrade. I would love to see your plane sometime, maybe even include it in a Light Sport Pilot Adventures TH-cam video somehow! Let me know what you think, and thanks for the positive words and for watching our TH-cam channel! (tewpilots@gmail.com)

I love this video its amazing. So happy we got to meet you guys at dodge County airport. Ill show my dad and Justin next time I see them and yell at them for not taking more videos of you guys. That was a exciting pattren. Haha. When they cleared me the 1st time I saw two planes taxing onto that dot, knew that go around was comming. When we landed we went to the vintage camping cuts out alot of walking. Hopefully one year win a award so we can get that vip show center camping. If you ever in the Chicagoland area let me know. Thanks again for including us in your video.

Most videos of the Fisk Arrival assume everyone knows where that is. Thanks for showing where it is! Impressively busy airspace - you made it look easy!

Great videos, question, do you have sports pilot license or private pilot?

Hi Charles. I have a private pilot license. But, a sport pilot license and a few endorsements for class airspace is all you would need to do most of this stuff.

@charleslewis564 Cool. I was 53 when I got my license. It was only possible when the kids were grown and out of the house for me to afford it. Here is my 2 cents. Everything about being pilot is about mitigating risk of getting hurt. Choose a plane that has good climb and a good glide ratio. That limits some of the amount of time in the danger zone. Watch Dan Gryder- Probable Cause. Despite "some people" not liking his tactics, he is right in his way of trying to keep pilots safe. Don't skimp on maintenance of the plane you fly. It is money well spent. Choose good days over questionable days for weather in flying. Be conservative in your personal minimums until you know what you are comfortably capable of as a pilot. Everyone is different. Most of all, make smart choices, as it is YOUR choices that will keep you and your passengers safe.
Let me know if I can help in any way!
      Cheers!

Sporty's Pilot Shop (courses.sportys.com/training/portal/course/SPORT/welcome). This is what I used to get through all of my written tests, and private pilot training. It is great, and easy. Don't get overwhelmed by all of the book knowledge you need to learn. Take it in steps, as you will actually need to know all of it for the written exam. You can watch a few previews for free and see if you like it.

There are a lot of other training resources out there as well. This one just worked well with me.
