I've this car at the moment for the winter here in Finland. Steering is direct and gives you feedback when you drive it on the limit hard enough. It tells you early when to change your driving line or ease off the gas. You didn't drive on the limit on curvy roads where the car come to life. Try that with hardest settings and you'll see that its not extremely much off from for example c63 S which I also have.

The previous 2017 model had the same options too the changes are minor for the 2018 model 6 horsepower more and higher torque. Some changes like new front and tail lights and some minor updates in the interior but the basic stayed the same. Only visible for the knowledgeable Hatchback lover 😉
My next one will be the 2021 model where the real changes are much more noticeable. Price is between 53 - 60 thousand Euros roughly for the 2017 and 2018 model.
Maybe a bit more depending on how crazy you wanna go but defiantly not 95.000,- Euros
It cost around RM 300k ++ here at Malaysia , really have to work hard to own one of these

Totally agree about the prices of 'hot hatch backs'. Takes them out of the realms of the people who'd normally have bought them.
For the price you pay in NL, that's a small Mercedes for the money. Or anywhere for that matter.
Because of the price it depends, i am wondering if there is another legislation in the Netherlands than in other European countries? In Germany the car with this options is about 65.000,- in Austria about 75.000,-. In my mind its a cheaper option than an RS3 but we will see what AMG will produce with the A50 AMG. Great review of the car, thank you.

Three steering in Merc cars have a latency that's is worse than pretty much all other cars. That's why you don't feel connected
Yeah I feel like going stage 1 on a car like this is not so good. For most cars it's not a big deal even with rather high hp gains, atleast when you don't floor it with a cold engine etc (as usual, but a lot of younger people do it anyway) xD But it's a 4 cilinder 2.0L engine, the new one would be slightly more than 400hp, probably with a slightly bigger turbo but I've also heard about an electromotor giving it some extra boost. I guess that's the only way to do it, but it might just be able to go sub 4seconds to 100, don't think it would be all that much faster to it's topspeed. Because usually boosts are limited to like 10seconds or so. 270 like in this one with a 2.0L 4cilinder, it has to be pushing that engine quite hard and well if it's a daily.

hello, what happens when u put the car in manual transmission mode and lets say keep on pressing the gas pedal and not shift up, does it shift automatically up or what happens
I think it just revs up, I dont think it shifts up automatically, I will let you know
If you put in in manual it will not up shift, you can rev it into the limiter. It will shift down to prevent the engine from stalling, but you can drop it really low before that happens. I have a 381 hp(facelift) a45.
@@b44rt i just ran into a problem with the gearbox, it kept changing gears 'harshly' so i reset the gearbox and now it's all good again.

MESSAGE TO MAX: I agree with you regarding the rather Pri$ey co$t for the four cylinder as tested. To be sure, what would the six cylinder run you in Euros, then? Over 100K ? it's a nice cool car for sure though they do push that little bugger of an engine maybe too far. Makes me wonder if it last until the warranty expired..?

AMG A45, I think its the best car. I have the AMG CLA45 by myself and the car is awesome. The 4Matic works perfectly and it is also perfect for the daily use.
