Performed by Sun Xiaohua and Lin Chufa of the First Performing Troupe of the Academy of Chaozhou Opera of Guangdong.
A nun had a clandestine relationship with a scholar, but the scholar suffered an illness and died before she gave birth to a baby boy. The baby was quickly given away to prevent the scandal from affecting the reputation of the nunnery.
The ill-fated nun suffered in silence for years until her grown-up son decided to seek her out one day, following the revelation of his real identity by his adoptive parents.
