    This man is indeed the TRUTH! I wish everybody could be proud of who they are and their African ancestry and embrace it, and not treat it as if its a negative thing. As an African American I take so much pride in my African ancestry, I just wish everybody could feel that since of pride in themselves and their history as I feel cause we've come along way and have a lot to be proud of.

    Paul Mooney, we in Nigeria don't look down at Blacks in America, especially those of us that are learned. The reason because; we understand history and that we are all one people. And I hate it when you said you hate Africans...so sad to hear that from you. I am one of your fans in Canada and I like it when I hear you speak facts and the truth, just like Richard Pryor did.

    In addition, quite a few of my classmates are of west indian descent and they could pass for white, but they choose not to. It's all about that "one-drop" rule which says if you have one drop of black blood, you're considered black. But I've also heard of some instances in which some Latin Americans apply the "one-drop" rule for "white" blood, instead. So they can be as dark as anything, but they still consider themselves white if one of their ancerstors here. Color is confusing, for sure.

    Of course everyone in those countries are not of African descent but a lot are just like here in America. The ones you see with the darker complexions like in Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Brazil just to name a few do have African blood. Even some of the lighter skinned ones. Because of slavery a lot of us over here in the Western Hemisphere are of African descent. Peace.

    the last bit about Africans is understandable but not agreeable to my experiences as an immigrant here. Black people here even Africans who've lived here in for a long time think they're much better than newly immigrated ones and we all know this, I've been more scrutinized about my appearance and accent, culture etc by African Americans than anyone else to be honest so it's not that i think I'm better than them, but I don't deserve to be looked down upon for being myself

    My living descendants are brown skinned african americans and i'm easily lighter and in some cases the same color as latinos,asians,native americans,middle easterners,and even some italians I saw.

  • @Tquiet
    @Tquiet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Didn't I say that.

  • @Tquiet
    @Tquiet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah I got you, I thought you was taking my comment as if I was saying black isn't black.Like when latino groups say there spanish but look more african than some African-Americans(light-skinned and even dark-skinned A-As)(even though they may have spanish blood)Even though there was rape, and mixtures with native americans, the majority of mine/african-americans ancestors are black/african, thus i'm black

  • @NovaR2385

    I'm a black woman, and I don't like the word and it's not part of my lingo; but I understand why my group will use it. My Dad said it was a word our people couldn't get away from and decided we would make it our own. My own theory is that this word became branded on the psyche. Let's be clear:you can't generalize people; some people dont like this word and some people dont like profanity. I dont like the word or the hateful meaning beihind the word, I do like to curse.

  • @Tquiet

    Did you listen to this clip?Paul mooney wasn't lying when he said certain people are suckers for skin and hair, but your right,it probably depends on who's looking at them. If you saw me and 1 of my brothers, sister, and my parents you probably wouldn't assume me or my brother and sister "came" from them.

    They have light skin and curky to straight hair, which means they could pass for white, if they wanted to. At first glance, they really look white, but they consider themselves black. It really just depends on the person.

  • @Tquiet
    @Tquiet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I also meant to say 2 darker skinned african americans producing lighter skinned african americans.(light as hell in comparison, again i'm 1 such child, and if people seen me and my parents and siblings people probably wouldn't assume they were my parents or that there's a relation, but that's what happens with african americans, we got and produce everything in us.)
