I was trying to do an assignment for a class, and I couldn’t figure out why my page # kept disappearing when I typed in my name…. or vice versa. I was getting so frustrated. I found this video and I was able to solve the issue! Thank you so much! New subscriber .😊👍🏼
Great question! You can create this type of caption if you have already established heading numbers. I have a tutorial about heading numbers that you may find helpful: th-cam.com/video/SDskGKeRA7c/w-d-xo.html. I also have a tutorial showing how to add the numbering scheme to the captions afterward: th-cam.com/video/U6o0ZOiqN0E/w-d-xo.html. I wish you all the best with your Word project!
I hate watching these video's because they never seem to work when I try it with my windows 365. Everything was going fine till I selected the '1 of x' option for the page number. It made the change, but instead of putting it on the right side of the page where the Alt-Shift-p number was, it replaced the text on the left side of the page.
That is an interesting question! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a solution without using a macro. If you are comfortable using macros, here is an article from Tips.net that you may find helpful: wordribbon.tips.net/T013316_Using_a_Portion_of_a_Documents_Filename_in_a_Header.html. I wish you all the best with your project!
Thank you for watching! To combine text and page numbers in footers, select the Insert tab and then select Footer, as shown at about 01:02 in the tutorial. I wish you all the best with your Word project.
