Edo State is building the first Smart City in Nigeria.
The plan is to build a new Benin City and decongest the Metropolis.
The New Coral City of over 1229 hectares will house over 100,000 homes with state-of-the-art infrastructure with all utilities(power, water, telecommunications) connected underground with leisure parks and recreation facilities in selected areas.
The New Coral city is divided into 4 phases with over 75km of roads infrastructure. The smart city will have 24/7 power supply from Ossiomo power.
EDSG is providing the vertical infrastructure and private investments will erect horizontal structures according to design. We're building 4 institutions in this facility to cater for the Educational needs of the residents.
The Coral City administrators have given approval for the building of hotels, lounges and bars in designated locations. We're building an artificial lake and a golf course in the Coral City as well.
The Coral city will be a place where residents and visitors can Work, live and play.
There will be a Management and Maintenance Agency in charge of the Coral City that will help to maintain this infrastructure. The Edo State New Town Development Company is a CAC registered firm that will take ownership of this facility, the infrastructure built will be EDSG's equity contribution while the New Town Development Company will be able to raise funds for the continued progress of the Coral City.
In the next few years, the Coral City will be top destination for Nigerians to explore.
