My dad had one of these, the pre-facelift 3.0 TDI, brought it from the UK to Switzerland. That was one hell of a car, I'd say even better than the successor which we currently own. Thanks for bringing back some memories.
4.2L V8 Audi Knowing what the timing chain looks like on those, absolute respect to the owner and condolences to his wallet. 234k and it looks brand new, truly a time capsule! You bring a good point. The fact that the screen can hide itself, there are no warnings, no blinks, no beeps, tells me that car manufacturers prioritized absolutely zero distractions from you driving and looking at the road, connecting with the car. P.S. When are we having you for the next transporter movie? - "We're making everyone drive EV's" - "Not through my 4.2L Naturally Aspirated A8L with wood!"
@@The_Unpunished i would love to be in such a movie literally i think id be able to pull it off, just have to slim down a Little 🤣 also its just annoying to me that everyone seems to follow a progression that is not better. Thats why i will keep on driving those old cars
I had one of these from 2008 to 2013. Did countless euro trips from london was a beast of a car used to do 27mpg on a quick run. Thanks for bringing it back i miss it now lol
I used to own a A8 4.2 FSI sport. Best car in the world. Drives like a dream. Feels like a sports car when you want it to. Solid, fast and safe car with lots of space and toys. Miss this car and am saying this whilst currently driving a BMW M3
Yesterday I told myself. Hope one day Aziz makes vid about A8 4,2. Wtf, Santa is real 😂. Great vid Aziz! Thank you so much and Marry Christmas 🎄. Much love from Czech republic.
Those launch just perfect from a dig, incredible for a limo of that size. Rolling they're nothing to talk about, but the engine sounds great and there's no lag, just beautiful. 4.2Dieasel is super laggy and very unpleasant to drive in city. Funny thing is that 4,2FSI motor has virtually zero lag compared to even RS6 or something in that lane :)
Hi Azis, really like your videos! Question: Do you do any kickdowns or faster acclerations during the tests or are you paying attention to drive as smooth as possible to achieve a better consumption? Keep it up with the videos.
Really impressive whats possible just with a bit attention paid while every day driving. The other thing i want to mention is, yeah progress in some ways are not that much as you mentioned. Its rather a 'small evolution' while the time from 1990-2008 (more or less) seemed like a revolution. At least i feel that way. I mean the A8 still looks modern to me.
Dude, love your review!!! I own and Passat 2010 and a Bmw 2012...wouldnt trade them for anything, nowadays they puy a tablet instead of a cluster/dashboard...I love the old cars, they have soul....not like this computers on wheels! Cheers from Romania
A few updates and it’s mint! The “old” looks are just down to the wheels. My friend has a black pre-fl with R8 20”, a touch of spacers, and it looks amazing 😚 Interior-wise, the steering wheel with the round airbag is much better, it is heated, paddle shift, all that. Bang&Olufsen makes it more modern, and there are also darker wooden trims that are not orange. You can also buy a carplay module that works like stock, and preserves all of the MMI functions. Speaking of kit, you could get the radar cruise control that could stop the car and bring it up to speed again, and in the last years of its production, you could even get 360 camera, blind spot radars, lane keep assist, although I think it only warned you with vibration, and didn’t affect the wheel. All in all, an amazing cruiser, that will wow you and your passengers, for used Škoda Superb money.
One among first cars that I was lucky to have around me when I started driving. We had one. 4.2TDI also L variant with black exclusive interior - torque, power and fuel efficiency. It still remains one of the best cars that we ever had by far margin.

My 2009 Volvo XC90 3.2 AWD, 327,000km, has a 6-speed automatic, and I score 8l/100 when driving around 80-90 km/h. Those like to be driven a little slower than standard highway speeds.

230 000kms, that is nothing, I’m use to dealing with 300 000kms to 400 000+ kms Volvos.

Can you do Range Rover Vogue 3.0 Diesel
Hi Aziz, I would love to see a video on Mercedes’ last 4 liter V8 Diesel put on a car. Preferably the E-Class W211 E420 CDI!
Isn't that a car, that Jeremy Clarkson used to travel 1200 km on one tank?
@@mathel9779yes he did it with the diesel
That's great Aziz. I was wondering which is the more reliable engine, this one or the 4.2 TDI.

Hi Aziz wuld u mind telling what do u do for a living? How do u get so many cars to test?
This car will outlast all the electric crap.
Test now 450 cdi S class and bmw 745d, aaand the a8 4.2 tdi
