  • Abandoned 168 year old Heritage farmhouse in Ontario, Canada. Explore #24
This beautiful abandoned heritage farmhouse was very nice to explore. I was told a developer bought the property to build new homes on it. The community fought to have this house put on the heritage designation list. This house is now on the list and will not be demolished. Thank you Michelle at Abandoned Explorers for sharing this one with me. Please check out their TH-cam channel / @abandonedexplorers

    About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

Just started watching you yesterday. I am distressed to hear that Canada tends to do what the rest of the world does, I guess, tearing down beautiful old homes that have stood the test of time so far to be replaced with homes with much less quality and charm. So glad to hear that this episode brought some GOOD news that this home will be saved. I appreciate your appreciation of these beautiful homes. Thank you for what you do. From a granny in VA.

They could do tours of the house, based on life as it was then for each season. Costumes relevant to the period, when it was built and stuff.

Oh my, where do I start with this one? I have literally seen thousands of abandoned house videos and I have been in a few, but this house stole my heart. Absolutely beautiful. I love a lot of natural wood, which it has, that incrediable kitchen and the old style floor plan. I just want to take over this place and move right in, fixing and updating as the days go by. WOW!!! ❤. Thank you.
P.S. I'm taking it over and when it's up to date, you'll have to come back for tour, a drink ( or several) , tacos and pizza. 😂🥃🍻🍕🌮😂

Shelley Hynes Glad you liked it Shelley! It is now designated a heritage house. I have seen a few heritage houses and the developer just does nothing and the house it left to slowly rot away. Let’s hope they will preserve this place one day. If you move in I’ll come by for a drink! 🍺

This place is sort like our house on the Jersey Shore town of Keansburg, NJ. My hubby just told me that our house is 106 years old. Its built in 1913 and its a Sears and Robuck house. They built houses for the shore areas back in the 1900's. I love old houses. The one me and my brother Pete grew up in was built back in 1957 so it was a nice house. It was a tri- level house in Middletown, NJ. The house that me hubby bought back in 2001 is a 2 bedroom Sears Beach Bungalow. It was a 2 story house but after Hurricane Sandy it became a 3 story house.

I've been waiting for this one. As I catch up with the group, I believe this is the first Heritage Home you've mentioned that was purchased by a developer for some much needed TLC. Great news. The other thing is the kitchen. In your opening clips, you can see the wagon wheel over the sink. I couldn't tell, and thought it was a nuclear-powered exhaust fan! LOL I stand corrected.
What a home, very nice find! I hope that the developer doesn't wait too long to start working on it. The longer he does..... I don't want to think about it. If by some miracle they see this video and my post, I hope he invites you back after the renovations are done for an update!
Brent, great job, as usual. Many thanks for your hard work to document these for us!

I realize I'm late to this party, but I had to say something. There is nothing left of the original charm the older part of this home had. The inside has pretty much been destroyed by "renovations". It is a shame and if it is to be preserved I hope they reverse some of those ugly changes.

I can imagine people in period ' cothes showing people around this house, talking about how the people here might have lived, breathing life back into this magnificent and beautiful, solidly built house.
P.s. I'm same as you, when I shoot video; I forget that I can and should vocalise my thoughts and feelings about what I'm looking at.
Typed this when I only just started watching this one, so I might be jumping the gun.
I like your style of filming. No drama. Steady, cool, calm and collected. Thank you

You are right about the immersion "float" suit. That looked light duty, but they go for at least $300 US. Got to wonder how that got left behind..... Sad

Omg......how wonderful this house was saved!!!! Hats off to the people who worked hard to see it saved as a historical site. Developers don't give a damn about anything historical unless it involves money for them. Typical greed. Beautiful home and light fixtures look vintage in foyer. It looks as though someone really put some money into the updating of it. A shame they lost it. I sure would love to have it!! Then I would see snow for the holidays too lol.Thank u for an awesome video.

I'd like to visit these wonderful places but since I can't, you're the next best thing! Since I've been touring these places with you, I understand why people from the States move to Canada!🤔

What an absolutely stunning house! All appliances left! I wonder what the little windowed cubby was for to the left of the fridge...
