Who threw a “hospital ball” to Bryant and completed 50% of his passes? O’Connell got sacked when the “vet” backup tackle got beat by the rookie lineman from the Vikings.
Gardner threw more than one hospital ball. Receiver had to hit the turf to avoid losing his head on half of gardners completions. Davante probably isn’t impressed.

Aiden play7ed well against the Viking's' starting lineup. Gardner played well against the Vikings' second stringers. I think Aiden deserves to be the starting QB.

While Minshew adds excitement you have to do better than a 50% completion rate. That’s not gonna cut it. Get that percentage up next week. AOC’s drive was methodical but efficient. Throwing 7 for 9 is what I like seeing

If we have a stout o-line... I want AOC. If there is any weakness in any part of the o-line I want Minshew. AOC gets the ball out quick and all but he crumbles if the pass rush gets there quick. Minshew can get out and pick up first downs with his legs when the defense gets aggressive. I'm leaning towards Minshew I think AOC needs a top o-line with no weaknesses.... and I think we have a good o-line but I see some weaknesses.
They need to let Minshew start the next preseason game with all the starters so we can get a better look at what he can do with the full 1st team

No, he doesn't deserve to start after the Vikings game. The staff decided ahead of time that AOC would get just one drive of reps, and that Minshew would get more. Next game that will be reversed. It was confirmed by a number of beat writers. Now, if AOC does not do well next week with a larger number of reps, THEN you can post a video like this.
No, they decided to give them each a Quarter. Aidan O'Connell just took 7+ minutes on his drive and Gardner scored 3 times in 10 minutes. Not his fault.
@nickmoss8415 I don't think they decided anything. BUT, Special teams and Q2 defense gave Minshew positive yards and more opportunities. Plus the Vikings started AND ended Q1. Minshew was just gifted more opportunities, Ala Jack Jones, blocked kicks, and shutouts.

It’s one game and preseason, but the obvious thing is that Minshew can run for a first down something that AOC can’t do, and in todays NFL you need a QB that can run out of the pocket.

I was thinking the same thing.They all have what the others don't.We could play 'Situational Football',by rotating the QB to whatever the situation is.Like 3rd and 1- we could bring in Brown to dump it off,QB Option,or short pass to TE to pick it up.If we wanna go deep, bring in Aiden,if we need to pick up 5, bring in Minshew,he can hit a receiver on a slant or rollout to scramble.The defense would be at our Mercy.But the only thing that would not be good in this,it will allow the defense to sub in.We have the greatest advantage when the defense CAN'T sub in...Go Raiders!

Mitch, I believe both QBs bring two different types of offensive styles. AOC is a game planner compared to Minshew being a more open and sometimes risky style. It’s based on how a defense will be to consider who Qb1 is

Minshew 17 points in 1 quarter. AP says he is not sure who will start next game? If Minshew doesn't start with the first next week than the raider fans will not know what Minshew is capable of. I thought that Davante was going to get traded? what happened? Not good to have a disgruntled superstar on the team. I noticed ESPN had no highlights of Minshew. Like I have said before if you want to win go with Minshew, if you want to be on ESPN highlights go with AOC.

I took AOC only playing one drive to mean that the job is so completely his that there was no need to see further. I am confident that AP is fully behind him at this point. Gardner has the flash but this is AOCs team until otherwise stated.
My only areas of concern is the left side of the Oline and depth across the team. I seriously dont know how we are projected to be about 20th in the league. Cant wait to see the looks on their faces when we start rolling.

Gardner was only 50% that’s not good but he put up 14pts, AOC or Gardner we can’t be inside the 10yrd line walking away with FG all the time. That has been a big problem for us over the last few years and what happened to the depth the beat writers were speaking about the back ups got torched and we got do better stopping the run. LB’s looked concerning as well.

If offensive line is healthy, and playing well. O'Connell is probably the guy. If the offensive line isn't doing its job then Minshew is a little better with his legs.
I don't think anything happened in yesterday's game to say there is a clear drop off if Minshew starts over O'Connell, but there is nothing to really indicate the offense would be that much better with Minshew starting over O'Connell either.
I still think it is a little too close to call. The starter against the Chargers probably won't be decided until after the game against Dallas.

Zamir doesn’t shake anyone, and goes down on the first contact, nothing changed.
O line looks weak. Just like last year.
Dline isn’t scary at all. Only one that stood out was Jade Silvera.
Lbs looked iffy, #56 Burney looks much improved.
Secondary looks better, Bennet and Jack held it down.
Coaching looks subpar, good decision making was a problem last year and seems to be the same.
Let’s see what changes next week, but based on Saturdays showing, that’s a sub500 team.

Aoc. Gm extends plays that don’t need to be extended and puts receivers in harms way. If I see Gardner use the pocket instead of seeing ghosts and taking off to his right as soon as the ball is snapped almost every play, maybe I’ll change my mind.

Aiden needs to hold a clipboard for one more season under a qb like gardner and learn what it means to “refuse to lose”. There are qb’s in history who win based on the tools around them. There are qb’s in history who win because of the “system” they have designed for them. Minshew wins. He refuses to lose. He took a team full of decent college level players at Indy last season and willed them to within one dropped pass from the playoffs. Aiden just isnt ready or capable of winning at all cost YET. Gardner Minshew should start week 1 and youll see the Raiders make progress. If Aiden starts week 1, youll get nothing more than status quo and the results based on the performance of people around him and less than average pocket awareness.

Here we go again AOC went up against the starters GM played the second string. I think they both looked good, AOC worked the pocket well showed good pocket presence. GM had a 50% completion rating AOC was 7/9 which is what 85% completion rating. This is definitely an over reaction 💯
AOC looked a lot better than minshew, his passes were on target and receivers running on the route
seems like aoc isnt a good enough pocket only guy to where it warrants minshew not being the #1 gardner can do more than just pocket pass and gives veteran presence, im not a aoc hater or anything i hope it works out w him but why not let him sit and learn more let gardner go out there and make something happen
