Ruse PLEASE do some more stuff. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that you and Charls were a much bigger part of the brains behind MDE than we first thought.
@@absoluteunit8628 Before he took the mask off, really got the Jake Gyllenhaal from Nightcrawler vibe. But I think he channeled both the last 2 Jokers, Nightcrawler, and Funny Games. Really good, and simple.
A lot of media that has come out during quarantine that I feel will age very poorly in the future. But this to me encapsulates the definitive quarantine experience. How this sleazy, unprofessional photographer is able to get this complacent couple to do what he wants seeing how far he can push them into making them vulnerable and then taking advantage of it by invading their home. There are probably many ways of interpreting it depending on your view of corona virus. I was thinking the couple is so used to being told what to do from “professionals” to combat the virus that when this photographer who works for a “popular paper” or whatever shows up and starts parading then back and forth between the porch and the yard. The couple just does as he says because he’s a professional. The photographer is trying to see how far he can go to make these people do what he wants until they finally draw the line. That’s when they start questioning the credibility of the photographer and whether or not it was a good idea to listen to him. But it’s already too late and he’s in your home. I personally don’t think the virus itself is the most dangerous thing in the world right now but the mass hysteria it causes is. I’m curious how well look back on this after the quarantine is over. if it will ever be over. Anyways really great work Andy I hope you can get to direct a full length picture sometime soon. Oh I also love how you used the smoke of the cigarette as a way of visualizing him spreading the virus.
@@imma5269 you're probably never gonna read this but the implications and themes in this film mean that there is no way for there to be any other interpretation, however abstract it is, there's only three people in it and the joke is that guy posturing as a professional basically takes control of this couple and stokes fear of his sickness to get into their home. I've seen a few comments on here try and negate the director's ideas for political reasons by proposing other meanings, but the story is too simple for their to be any other interpretation than what is presented, Arguing over meaning would be fitting when discussing a feature length David Lynch or Stanley Kubrick film but it doesn't fit when discussing a 9 minute short film about COVID hysteria.
One of my prime motivations to become a multimillionaire, is just so that I can fund your work. It is some of the most amazing stuff I have ever seen in my life, with images harrowing me in my dreams, and every time I turn on the TV and get flooded by bazingas and wabba dabba doos, I feel spiritually robbed. If you ever see this comment, please never ever give up.
Can't believe it took me this long to find your channel, man. You're a legendary producer/director/writer! Also this is an artistic master piece. I loved every second of it.
Please do more stuff like that intro you did before The Orville review with Charls! That was amazing. I loved it. Haven’t watched this yet but bet I’m gonna love it too, Andy
Got the exact same haircut as this guy, got the exact same Praktica MTL next to me on my bed, was planning on buying a Hotline Miami russian suit just like that one. This is ruinning alot of things for me. But great work as always.
it seems to have something to do with Instagram creating narcissistic tendencies in women, especially when you see that the guy isn't really about it at first but she volunteers them and then again with the mask off stuff and the posing. (Adendum) And she says this is the most fun she's had in forever and he obviously got hurt by that bc he says that thing about how they have been spending quality time together so obviously the attention of another man is better than a month alone with her bf
Yeah, I knew it had to have some grim meaning behind all of this. Wish I was such clever and witty brained individual like you to figure it out in 5 minutes. Great analysis. You should make those explanation videos about some deep movies and upload them to TH-cam!
Thanks, duderino! You really think I should? My remedial English teacher told me that anyone can have an opinion, but few people have insightful or meaningful thoughts. He went on to say that the worst thing is a dullard who believes that his opinion is insightful or meaningful. In a roud about way i think he was trying to tell me to keep my opinion to myself.
This was great! I have an off-topic question though…are you still in contact with the women behind the “I’m Shithead” video? Is she alright? I saw something saying she passed.
3,771 views after 3 weeks. There's no justice. Edit- in fairness your upload schedule doesn't fit with TH-cam's algorithmn. Maybe you could up it to once every year and game the system.
It's good, but the plot is something missing. When I see Sam Hyde latest work, the ideas and plot is good, but the camerawork is bad. Maybe you should think again of a collaboration like with 'thankscomputer?'
andy ruse? now thats a notification i havent seen in years
This is like Funny Games for the quarantine era. Perfectly unsettling, great work as always.
Thank you Spike
Andy Ruse Ruse please make more stuff. Pleaaaaase?

Lmao how’d you get Joaquin Phoenix?
That wasnt Jared Leto?

What a beautiful way to show that nothing has really changed.
This happened to me yesterday.
Please I encourage you to keep filmmaking, you’ve brought so much happiness to my life this past decade. I am forever grateful.
very tense, but the comforting scenery of wherever this was shot gives it a very nice vibe, really look forward to seeing more of your work !
Andy is a genius. I’ve never laughed this much in a while, and I was quite sad today. I never want to sober up.
Andy, are you going to be involved in Wold Peace 2?
Discovered you late, wish I found you and the MDE boys when you first started
I've watched this about 4 times since this came out. All of your work is fucking spot on brother.
