0:56 Just go to the file / folder you want to shortcut is and hold alt while draging the file / folder where you want a shortcut. it's way easier and simpler
Thank you for this! I have been so frustrated trying to figure out how to create a desk top shortcut and you have shown me how! All the other tutorials have been too confusing and have not helped me at all.
I have not used windows in years. Had to get a new computer., it has Windows 11 this was by far the best video to show how to get a shortcut. Everything else I watched was a joke.,
Same for me. I have tried this put instead of a lock symbol there are 2 horizontal lines w a circle on each end. Then when I try to move name of website to desktop I get the Goodle Icon. I would like to change ALL Google Icons saved on laptop screen of various websites I moved to lap top main page. You need to pretend you are talking to your mom. I know zip about computers.
NO LOCK SYMBLE. However, I do have 2 horizontal lines with circles on each end. Then when I try to move name of website to desktop I get the Goodle Icon. FOUND IT! In Windows 11 the create shortcut button is still there. But they hit it. So now you just have to do the following: Right click on the file or application. Choose "show more options" from the menu. Choose "create shortcut" from the new menu. DONE
This comment helped more than any video or google search did. Literally so infuriating. Not sure why they have to make it so difficult, too much yapping and not enough problem solving. So yeah, Thank you!
never thought i would need a tutorial on how to create a shortcut but here i am. thank you!

If you don't want to shortcut anymore just right click while you're still dragging it will cancel the draging
so basically do the same as ctrl method but with alt. Because
drag = move a file
ctrl drag = copy a file
alt + drag = shortcut a file
Your video is great, just adding that here because i find it usefule
Great video, easy to follow and understand, thanks
thank you so much for the tutorial!
