I worked with a guy who was from afganistan and worked for the US army as a translator. He lost count of how many times he personally witnessed that sick stuff

He replied that "If burning women alive is part of your curlture, then hanging the men who burn women alive is part of my culture. So you follow through with your culture, and we'll follow ours." Not all cultures are created equal.

The fact that is ignored is that those warlords who exploited children were the allies of America and it was Taliban who had stoning as a punishment for these crimes.
Is this true? Genuinely asking. The taliban are very public with stonings and punishment to the point where the punishment is often recorded. Are there videos of taliban punishing this stuff? Oh it’s out in the open alright. 8 deployments to different parts of Afghanistan. We were briefed every time to not insult their culture of ‘men are for pleasure, women are for procreation’. Every day you’d see a group for three men walking together, while two of them always had one hand on the third man, either holding the shoulder or pulling him by the bicep. And somehow women’s underwear would always go missing from their laundry bags.
It’s called Bacha Bazi Bacha bazi, also known as bacchá (from the Persian bacheh بچه, literally "playing with boys" in Persian and Pashto), is a form of sexual slavery and child prostitution in which prepubescent and adolescent boys are sold to wealthy or powerful men for entertainment and sexual activities. This business thrives in Afghanistan, where many men keep dancing boys as status symbols.
Should also mention, the Taliban were VERY against this practice and issued the death penalty for it. These disgusting acts were carried out by Afghan police and military.
i don't believe you. Culture doesn't change from the Taliban to Police. Police might do it too, but so does the Taliban, despite what they say to the public. Just like they said girls were going to be able to go to school, now they can't talk. Stop giving them cover, they suck.
@@terrylandess6072 "Extreme" is a meaningless word. Any culture that differs greatly enough to your own seems extreme. Taliban probably think American culture is "extreme" in many ways.
Contrary to what most Americans think, Afghans are not ultra religious Muslims. Most afghans are village people and have very little knowledge of anything outside their village including politics and religion. It is only the government that is ultra religious.
I remember years ago watching a documentary where all these middle aged Afghani men sat in a circle while a teenage boy danced in the middle dressed as a girl the explanation was that because men had almost no contact with women they used young boys. Scary shit.
That’s one of the things the taliban was apparently against too. We were supporting the boy lovers. Is it any wonder they didn’t want to fight and die for their messed up leaders
Mullah Umar's original "taliban" (which just means "students" in Pashto) was just religious students that got fed up with this stuff being protected by warlords like Abdur Rashid Dostum and the Massoud clan (both of which were key American allies during the war). Their first militant action was hanging a guy who had raped a young girl.
@ from what I’m aware this is a very old tradition isolated to certain regions of Afghanistan. Many in Afghanistan are disturbed by it, and one of the platforms the Taliban got support for was to their opposition to this ancient practice. I’ve learned from a few different sources on this but don’t claim to be an authority on it. Just going off memory so I could be wrong
You clearly are completely ignorant, this is pre Islamic afghani culture, not all of afgan but one tribe. It's done by villagers who know nearly nothing about Islam and warlords who you supported against the Muslims who you call terro*ists in your country. Now that the Taliban got into power anyone who does this gets the sleeping penalty
This is the 1st time I've heared this at this level. When i was in Afghanistan in '03, the phrase was "women are for babies, men are for fun." And it was out in the open. I was stocked considering it essentially a death sentence there.
To this day the Kite Runner was one of the biggest awakening to the hardships of the world outside our western view, that and A Thousand Splendid Suns was another eye opener of the type of cultures we were dealing with in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Highly recommend anyone to read it, especially the left to get an accurate understanding of the world outside their bubble. As harsh as it was to read, it was one of the first series of books I couldn’t put down. Looking back, maybe that book made me more resilient in being an American patriot to appreciate the true freedom we do have. Sadly I think too many in Europe are likely living through the cultures that do promote this self destructive part of the Muslim culture and it could have saved them the trouble if they actually read these books to understand exactly what they were welcoming with open arms and exposing the belly.
It’s not Muslim culture it dates back to pre-Islam look up comfort boys in the Middle Ages in Europe they had kings who were bisexual but would only marry the females
Kite Runner was pretty nonsensical. The author attempted to paint this practice as A.) commonplace and B.) perpetrated by the Tali*an. When in fact it's a huge taboo, and it was the war lords and their underlings that the U.S. had confederated with that were primarily involved in this
The majority of those countries' populations have been against mass migration for a while now, It's the governments that did it. More like being stabbed in the back than 'exposing the belly'
What the hell does all this gay shit have to do with Islamic culture, do boys mot get raped in western world, yes they do, so? Always remember boys, if it wasn't for soviet and US intervention in Afghanistan, it wouldn't have reached this point.. it was a secular fine country before them..
It’s predominantly the US is fault. The Soviet communist backed government was very secular, secularism is a fundamental principle in communism/socialism. It was the US in cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan that introduced radicle ideologies there. Before that, even their brand of lsIam was pretty mild. The Saudis dumped billions into spreading their extremists Salafi brand of lsIam into the country with the backing of the CIA.
There were a lot of soldiers decrying this, some complained that they could hear the children crying, the soldiers were ultimately to stand in the name of “cultural tolerance”
It's not in the name of "cultural tolerance" it's in the name of liberalism and securalism. The Americans literally supported this and the warlords who advocate this, that's the reason the Taliban fought against them, thwg wanted to bring Islamic law into the country and forbid this evil. The way we left Afghanistan was evil. I'm not here to argue whether us going there in the first place was right or wrong, or whether our staying there for so long was right or wrong. But, the 'way' in which we left there at the very end, was evil. History will not look kindly on the tremendous suffering that we are responsible for, and which could have been avoided if not for our obliviousness and selfishness. We gave urban populations a taste of of something new, something better. And then, when we came to the conclusion that continuing to support that was no longer feasible (rightly or wrongly), we swept the rug out from under them with barely any warning or preparation at all.

Not true. It's common in Tajik areas and in Hazaras areas too. The only places not commonly associated with this practice are Mazar-e Sharif and the Uzbek/Turkmen northern lands. However, Ozbek warlord Abdur Rashid Dostum's men partook in this as well.

He took photos and videos of these vile activities on EVERY deployment -- and his team was deployed 75% of the time. His team shared these types of photos/videos via text messages and emails constantly. It was a DEEP, SADISTIC perversion. Our military is APPALLING. HORRIFIC in too many ways to count. We criticize other cultures but the problem is the USA contributing to it. America needs to WAKE UP and remove the log from it's own eye.
The practice of bacha bazi is rooted in traditional pre-Islamic Pashtun culture. The Taliban were opposed to it and most Afghans were angered by it as well. It's a big part of the reason why the Afghan public turned on the Western-backed government since they tolerated this crap
In Pakistan, this issue might be even more prevalent than in Afghanistan. The term 'bacchabazi' translates to 'baccha' (child) and 'baazi' (play/entertainment), often involving exploitative relationships with children, typically aged 6 to 15. It’s a deeply concerning practice that requires urgent attention and action from authorities and society.
The word 'Bacha' means boy; more specifically boy-child. The word implies child. I cannot stress enough that it is children. And the cycle perpetuates itself.
My late grandfather was a merchant sailer in WWII, he told me when he was in wandering the streets of a port town somewhere in the Middle East he was eagerly encouraged by a shop owner to enter his establishment. He was led into a room where he saw 3 little boys sitting on a bench that had vertical pegs sticking up out of it. So shocked and disgusted he ran out of the place.
It is not just Afghanistan, it's also in neighboring Pakistan and India. I know cause I experience it first hand when I was 4 years old. Even when you tell someone, they don't do anything and pretend like it didn't happen.
I watched a documentary years ago and this one guy always stuck with me. He was part of some teams left to train up the national Afghan army. He reported so many time of boys been in the barracks and been used for fun by the army. You could tell he was suffering and questioning his whole existence. I do always hope he made it out okay.

This is 1000% disgusting. But I find it extremely ironic how guys here are talking about "see, our culture is so much more superior than them" when stuff like comfort women, forced sex acts during the war in Vietnam and "Mulatto children" in America was rife. Lets be clear. Unanimous of who does it, sexual exploitation is bad. But to say one race is better than another when there are so many instances of every single culture at some point in time, exploiting people for their own pleasure really goes to show that you don't genuinely care about the victims, and instead try to insight division and acting like this is some sort of team game where this clip is a "gotcha" moment to prove that you're right, instead of sympathising with these poor afghani boys that suffered extremely horrific trauma...

"This Is What Winning Looks Like" is a great documentary from Vice that covers this specific issue in Afghanistan, among other subjects. It is far worse than what is explained here in this conversation.
That's where I leaned about this. I'm pretty sure one of them said something like "I went through the same as a kid so now its my turn"
I worked with a guy who was from afganistan and worked for the US army as a translator. One day he was with the unit and they were in the mountains and he told the unit about what they were gonna see, nobody believed him then they kicked in the door and saw 2 dudes going at it and then a few miles down they found a guy with a preteen boy. The fact that is ignored is that those warlords who exploited children were the allies of America and it was Taliban who had stoning as a punishment for these crimes.

@creativenameable I'm just saying if the US goal was to replace the Taliban with pedo's, it seems like they should've never been there
Oh it’s out in the open alright.
Loved those books,a total departure from what I would normally read ..but the best I've ever read😆
