Love working up their as a foreman running the lifts and enjoying amazing POW. Did a lot of digging up there in the 2022-2023 season and well worth spending 31 nights up there for road closure including a 5 night road closure. Thanks and keep enjoying the POW
I had a chance to ski Snowbird last season, and it's a great mountain; but northern California's best mountain - Olympic Valley (Squaw Valley), has more interesting terrain. I was surprised that Snowbird couldn't best Squaw (yeah, my opinion) given all the Utah ski area hype.
Nice video but hard disagree on the comment that it is “welcoming” to beginners. True that the chickadee run is great for beginners but that is literally it. The other green runs are really quite difficult greens and in many resorts would be blues. I don’t recommend Snowbird for true beginners unless they plan on chickadee all day long. Don’t go to snowbird unless you are skilled enough for blues all day long.
@@snowstash I guess everyone has their own view of what beginner terrain is, ha. I thought the same as you are saying until I took my daughter, a beginner, to Snowbird and the jump from Chickadee to Baby Thunder was enormous for her. She had enjoyed the greens (easy way down) at Alta, Brighton, and Deer Valley, but Baby Thunder was too much. At first I was surprised at her reaction and her fear, but then realized those runs are indeed a bit steeper than the average green. Now that you mention Mid-Gad, I think that could have been better for her :) To your point, I think maybe folks that are already comfortable on greens would enjoy Snowbird's easy terrain, but I still hold that true beginners would be better served by any other SLC area resort. Especially Deer Valley, if they have the Ikon.
Snowbird is by far my favourite mountain resort! Best in Utah and the world
We are glad you like it.

Great in-depth review of a dream snow resort of mine 👌🏼
Why thank you! It really is one of the best ski resorts on the planet.

Squaw is far more beautiful IMO, but the champagne powder you find in Utah is what makes it my favorite ski destination.
Too bad the snow at Palisades is awful the majority of the season

Shhhhhh, but what happens if it’s too good to not share? 😉

Bus service definitely isn't every 10-15 minutes anymore. I'd say lift tickets are more expensive now too

Thanks Shaun, valid points. During our visit we found the Wilbere, Mid-Gad and Baby Thunder lifts all services great beginner terrain.

I think you might be onto something there, when compared to Park City or even Snowbasin their beginner terrain has a lot more variety in their pitch.
snowbird blows if you're planning a trip please go to park city thank you
🤫🤫 secret is safe with us, however the higher alpine at Park City is pretty enjoyable.
@@snowstash no I love the mountain itself but it's a shame what vail has done to it imo
Park City has horrible skiing. Go to PC for anything else besides skiing. Go to Snowbird for the skiing.
Snowbird sucks. It is hard to get to, minimal grooming, not enough snow, and the terrain is too steep. 😜
Ha, we see what you did there 🙃
I agree. Not enough Apres options and people in yellow jackets telling you to slow down.
Snowbird super overrated. Go to Canyons or PowMow.
so true
lol Spoken like an intermediate skier

snowbird is just a warm up for Jackson Hole…
@@IHatePikeys Jackson Hole is a cute little no consequence East Coast area next to Europe.
