    Part of Sonor's enduring legacy is they never stopped listening to and working with innovative artists. Artists who could choose any company, but choose Sonor because the drums come first.

    Sonor is so underrated, not by drummers but by commersials, I can`t get over that T Lang left Sonor for DW

      I think he just got a sweeter endorsement deal. DW makes some of the absolute best stuff on the market if you’ve got the money; sonor is the only company that regularly gives them a run for their money.

      @@1dudecrush That's very subjective. I would go with Sonor in terms of reliability any time over DW. DW has a premium/trendy brand image, but in terms of actual quality you can find just as good or better if aim for high end kits of other brands.

    • @fuzzylogiceire
      @fuzzylogiceire ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DW are based in California and that's where Lang lives. I think it would be more convenient to be a DW artist living and working in that area, compared to Sonor. See also, Chad Smith, based in the same area, leaving Pearl for DW. Endorsements aren't just about the drums themselves, the level of support a company can give on a logistical level is also key.

    Chris is such a perfect endorser. One of the best players, amazing spokesman, and truely loves the gear he plays and is involved with each company he’s with. With that said, a lot of these hardware innovations have already been around with tama. Tama been had rubber in the mounts and hardware for maximum sustain, and tama has the quick lock tom and floor Tom brackets with the air cushioned floor Tom legs that let it move alittle and bounce up and down and just feels amazing. But props to Sonor for making it their own and coming up with cool stuff. I think tama and Sonor are the two best drum companies in the world.

    You won’t get a production Sonor in maple now because it comes from Canada. That costs. They get the beech locally and the birch comes from Finland. If it’s EU, not as expensive. Thus, the SQ1.

    Chris ist ein fantastischer Drummer und Sonor baut wirklich hervorragende Drums. Mich persönlich stören nur zwei Punkte an der sq1 Präsentation. Warum verbaut Sonor in dieser Serie Kessel, die DICKER sind als medium Kessel?? Ein Drumset, das mit maximalem Sustain wirbt, sollte vielleicht Kessel haben, die zwischen thin und medium angelegt sind. Ist die Verwendung der dicken Kessel eine Homage an das alte Sonorlite??. - Abgesehen davon, hat mir die Konstruktion, das Finish und die Böckchen der - leider - nur kurzfristig zu erwerbenden Birch infinite Serie besser gefallen (Geschmack). Der zweite Kritikpunkt ist der Sound des Mixes der Präsentationsvideos der sq1 Serie. In KEINEM EINZIGEN Video mit Chris zu dieser Serie kann man auch nur ansatzweise den Druck und das Sustain der Kessel erahnen..... eigentlich schade.......und schwer zu verstehen....

    No doubt they make great drums. I got my Birch Infinite kit in May of 2014 my 2nd Sonor kit. Decided to go to a bass drum mount last May so I have less hardware to move. This 63 year old body can't lift like it use to. Still waiting for it as of today Feb.15. Very hard... no almost impossible to get parts.

      Benevolent Backpacker Cymbal angles actually have a effect on the sound and might help moving around the set, the bass drum head doesnt effect anything but messes with my OCD too much.

    • @batwithglasses
      @batwithglasses 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FrustratedTurtle , agree to disagree about the cymbal angles.. it's a fad.. plain and simple..it defies logic how angling a cymbal differently affects it's sound especially when mics are in play.
      This trend came about in the last few years, if the argument is sitting high on the throne nessesitates this for better sound or mobility around the kit..I pose the fact that the great jazz drummers from the 40s and 50s sat almost standing up and never did this with their cymbals and still managed to sound great ( un-mic'd to boot ) and burn around the kit.
      A recent drummer that comes to mind is Steve Smith..who also sits high, and cooks around the kit ..and from seeing him in clinic numerous times..his cymbals projected just fine..again un- mic'd.
      But agreed, my OCD - ness wants to reach through the damn screen and straighten that head!😉
      But I respect your view on the situation!

      I know what you are saying, but its not a fad, and for the record, I don't do it, but I can explain why people do it. When a cymbal is flat or tiled forward and screwed down fairly loose, you can sometimes he top cymbal as it moves back to its normal position if you hit it in quick succession. But when a cymbal is tilted backwards, you are only able to hit the cymbal on the edge which will derive the most volume from the cymbal, and it will also come back to its normal position faster as gravity pulls it back, unlike the tilted forward or flat cymbal. Its basically for full volume constantly.

  • @moogman5
