The lyrics and MV are so deep. I didn't interpret Jay Chou as purposely being cruel. Only that the themes of reincarnation and fate are conveyed through tragic circumstances.

Porcelain is fragile, similarly love is beautiful, it can be fragile. Just like how the two main characters' love for each other in the MV, being beautiful across both reincarnations and yet fragile, cruelly ended by a stab and a gunshot.

I don't know if this is the best Jay Chou's song, but this is definitely the one that I can listen repeatedly without getting bored.
(P.S. Tazmin is as stunning as the Blue & White Porcelain)😉
I read up the meaning recently, the desired blue hue for the porcelain actually refered to Ru ware, a type of porcelain (not blue white porcelain) only produced from a rather short period of time close to 1000 years ago. Less than 100 pieces survived today and of course the price is crazy, maybe this song made the price a lil higher i dont know. But in the end they decided to use blue white porcelain as the song title instead.

wow, u r amazing. U really know your stuffs. It makes me fall in love with my Chinese culture more and more. However, the translation didn't really capture the essence of the song. Anyway credit must be given to Fang Wen Shan for all the lyrics because he's really into Chinese classical stuffs. Have you listen to 娘子。not many can appreciate but they all agreed its a work of genius. Some songs with very good lyrics are 紫 by 蔡健雅，眼泪成诗-孙燕姿，one night in beijing - 陈升。(He's kind of like a pioneer of incorporating Chinese opera into modern music）
