if he was smart he would've just ran away from shadow the moment he was ressurected, then he could've gone to white space and killed the rest of sonic's crew
@@therandomvideochannel8589yeah but the writers had to make him a side villain even tho bro technically should be the main villain along side black doom
@@giovonniiclaytonthat right there is why I really didn’t want him to appear in THIS game because just like base generations he’s not gonna pose a real threat before he was causing trouble for everyone in different points in time shadow couldn’t even completely eradicate him but here he’s kinda a chump just an obstacle in shadows way
I'm surprised that Mephiles doesn't manipulate Shadow again when Shadow once again doesn't remember him.
Also the boss fight looks so awesome 🔥
I think Mephiles was overconfident with a sneak attack and then a full on assault. Who knows when he was pulled from the erased timeline but it did work on Sonic.
He didn’t compensate for the Doom Powers.
He sounded genuinely upset that Shadow didn't know. Probably too bitter about the whole being erased from existence thing to think clearly
Yep
And bro got the nerf hammer on top of that
@@Morbius-TensionFor real. He shouldn't be able to be sealed inside the scepter at this point, that alone is a plot hole (though I understand why they did it. Mephiles is immortal, so it would be problematic for the story if he was allowed to fight Shadow until he won or escaped, but still..). Nor should attacking his clones hurt him in the slightest (that was actually a mechanic of the first boss, he was sending an endless amount of clones after you).
Not sure how to feel about Memphis's voice. He does a great job, but i wish they got someone who was closer to Dan Green. I'm so used to that deeper voice. lol
Same here! I wish they would have Jim Cummings do his voice. I mean, think about it. Jim had voiced several villains in he past. so it would have make sense if Jim Cummings did Mephiles's voice in the game.
And in case you ask and don't know, Jim Cummings is the legendary voice actor who provided the voices of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!
@@amaniwhite9622 Jim Cummings is sadly very old and suffers from health issues these days, he couldn't return to reprise his character in Baldur's Gate 3 even. So I doubt we'll see him in too much in the future.
And yes Robbie Daymond is an amazing voice actor but he sounds completely different to Dan Green, and far younger. Consistency with the previous English VA was definitely not in the cards here, but he sounds pretty much like what Mephiles Japanese voice actor is going for.
@@TheCoolguymanlyThat’s cool to know that at least the similarity for the Japanese voice actors is there. While I don’t dislike the English VA for Mephiles here it was still off putting hearing it for the first time lol
Pretty sure Mephilis this time around was VAed by Roger Craig Smith.
He did a good job with Abraham Tower, I’ll give him that….
The best comparison I can make is that somehow Roger made Mephilis sound like Jack Krauser from RE:4 Remake.
And I don’t know how I feel about that tbh…
@@Houndlock643 If so, thats incredibly lazy. Roger shouldn't be voicing half the returning characters.
Let’s get tilted at the towers, Shadow, you see, with me back in the timeline, I can finally become a Alpla gamer
- Memphis Tennessee, who is also part lizard
5:49 I'm so sorry Mephiles, but we can't let that happen!!! 😔😔😔😔😔😔
1:55
Mephiles: YOU took EVERYTHING from ME!!!!
Shadow: I don't even know who you are?!
Since Shadow doesn’t remember Mephiles, it’d be no different than sealing him for the first time in Aquatic Base.
Mephiles now going through this process three times, the second seal even failing in 06, I believe he performed a fake out, just like this battle’s intro. There’s still a chance he could escape the anomaly and return to the timeline.
That is plausible. Mephiles is a master of deception. He played everyone for fools in 06
And Mephiles knows he's erased from the timeline, trying to bring back his existence
@@VazelinRipTheSkin goes to show how powerful he is, he’s already aware of everything that is going on.
Um, out of curiosity, if Shadow & Silver forgot, does Sonic remember the events of Sonic '06?
@@Myzayu no one remembers
1:09 Who knew Robbie Daymond would be the voicing Mephiles?!😃
Yeah. Well, I got to tell you. Robbie Daymond is such an excellent voice actor! I even liked his performance as Spider-Man a.k.a. Peter Parker.
You mean Marvel's Spider-Man from 2017?
3:10 DID THEY ACTUALLY INCLUDE TILTED TOWERS FROM THE FANDUB?!
They do indeed tilt after they land on the ground. So, yeah.
"I am forever. I am invincible..."
"You're only practice."
so mephiles is fully aware he doesnt exist. black doom has a way of reviving himself over and over again. whats next biolizard and metal overlord having something special that makes them have crazier feats
Awesome Mephiles knew that his timeline got erased
Shadow basically told Mephiles that nobody wants to go through 06 again. So stay dead XD
What's funny is the Project 06 mod just has to finish the bosses and End of the World and it will be done.
Ngl This is still my favorite fight and I wish Mephiles had a bigger role. As the time eater somehow or just
In general. But i love what we got, his voice is HELLA cool, Robbie good job, and I just hope we see him in the future again.
I wish Mephiles returns again. He's the goat villain for Shadow
Not sure how to feel about Mephiles’ new voice. Dan Green’s voice was literal perfection.
That and how the character operated and planned everything out in 2006 like he was Aizen and Xehanort until karma caught up to him cuz he had immortality from birth just like his brother Iblis but they didn't have plot armor and you can see that what Mephiles is going through points back at what Shadow said to him at the beginning of their final confrontation
@@silver_wearing_clothes Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that! At the beggining of Mephiles Phase 2, Shadow tells him that he won't let him escape. And even after forgetting, he ends up staying true to his words here. Mephiles didn't escape.
@@DLxxx and the fact that Shadow brought up that Mephiles doesn't care for vengeance and that his main goal was to keep fuelling Iblis until there was nothing left of time itself which obviously means that he was tryna give everyone what he's currently going through this Mephiles was afraid of not existing and being forgotten and acted out of fear and hate and the feeling of being determined to win and wanting to get it done fast the cause of Mephiles being different than the one we know is his voice sounds different and he's become desperate because he lost his abilities to fuse with his other half and to travel through time and space which means he can't used that electric sphere of destruction either Elise limited this Mephiles's arsenal when she blew out that candle so he can only split himself into shadow clones like his first and second phase and become one of those giant demons and fire ceros and phase into the ground like how he did in his first and second phase and lastly he can use the death spear that he used to take Sonic's life by surprise and can get sealed away even if he has a physical appearance which is a downgrade to his traits and the fact Mephiles was worried in his fourth fight with Shadow about losing and not being able to exist and being forgotten is a down grade to his character maybe he lost a lot of iq points too over the past years prior to 2006 cuz how they handled him here is not exactly the Mephiles I know cuz Mephiles is what kept me playing 2006 they put so much character and made sure he was accurate on point and no flaws but couldn't make sure 06's gameplay was good but Sonic X Shadow Generations got good gameplay and couldn't get Mephiles character completely on point
That's right. Ever since Sonic, Shadow and Silver defeated Solaris. Sonic and Elise went to put down the flame from Solaris to prevent the experiment. Especially Mephiles and Iblis. Like they never existed.
Poor dude, he wants to be cannon again😭💀
06 events were erased so shadow knew he would be a threat
Omg, Akechi and Mephiles same voice actor? 😮
I love Robbie Daymond voice
Me too! Plus, he also Spider-Man a.k.a. Peter Parker!
I was not expecting Mephiles to be recast, but Robbie Daymond didn't do a bad job as Mephiles! If anything, they just need to pitch the voice lines down a bit.
1:18 - I can't believe they're doing SRB2 Metal Sonic's attack pattern here.
Ian Flynn: We rewrote several lines in the Sonic campaign because we thought Pontac and Graff's original script was too cheesy to be canon.
Also Ian Flynn: "Welcome, Shadow, to the ultimate game of shadow tag!"
That’s an incredibly impressive combined flavor: Doom Morph and Doom Blast
I actually like this new voice for Mephiles ngl
Same
It’s Roger Craig smith who’s voicing him it’s pretty good ngl
@@sonicrapidly4257 I’m not sure about that. It sounds like Robbie Daymond. RCS as Mephiles would probably sound more like Batman
@@sonicrapidly4257 that is definitely not Roger dude lol. Far from it. Roger has got some range, but this voice is beyond, but he’s capable of.
This sounds like either Robbie Daymond, or Josh Keaton.
@@sonicrapidly4257 This is Robbie Daymond voicing him. The tweet that said it was Roger Craig Smith was mistaken.
We need Mephilis to be in the next game
I completely forgot the 06 timeline was erased so he’s Mephiles, shadow did forget you twice 😂
Mephiles New Voice is Indeed Robbie Raymond
I dig all his new attacks but there was only one I was really looking forward to seeing and it’s not here I’m talking about the move where he basically pulls out a spirit bomb and shouts “take this!!” That would’ve looked cool here
At first I was confused why Shadow doesn't remember a foe as dangerous as Mephiles.
And then I remembered Sonic and Elise literally erased that timeline at the end of 06
To quote Terminator Genisys: "You're just a relic from a deleted timeline."
Crazy how effortlessly he beats mephiles and he panics
Is that Robbie Daymond as Mephiles?! He sounded like him! 🤩
Man im so happy my favorite villain is back on a story after all these years
I want to know who voices him
I like it but i really into Dan green voices
Honestly I fully believe the writers will bring back Mephiles as a permanent threat at some point, they know we want him back permanently.
I mean technically he does exist, just in a section of the timeline that was erased from the main timeline. It's like an endless void of nothingness for him. Ironically that was his goal in 06, and now it's a personal hell for him
@@HippyHappyHour Oh how ironic fate can be!
@@megaman37456 it's crazy to think he had the chance to escape though. The guy can time travel, all he had to do was keep shadow busy just for a moment and retreat, and he could've just time traveled out of there
@@HippyHappyHour I’m sure like in 06 he can break the seal on him and come back to the main timeline without anyone knowing maybe
I gotta say his boss fight is a bit better than his old one since his old boss battles are pretty basic.

Whoever is voicing Mephiles here, they’re doing a great job and making him sound unique
Yeah he sounds less cool, maniacal and in control, and more desperate and angry. Which totally works since he’s fully aware of his own irrelevance since he never technically existed at all
The voice is shit. The uniqueness he had before is gone.
He's just bland anime rival now

I guess this confirms both shadow and silver don’t remember the events of 06
I mean, Shadow knows who he is now. Sonic might fill him in now that there’s a reason to
That beatdown was badass
The Sega team made a huge mistake not making Shadow the first character
This going to be the best Sonic game
Weird how in Sonic 06 only Sonic gets to remember that story, but not Shadow and Silver. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.
Hell nah it’s not good because Shadow and Silver actually did most of the work in that game

3:15. Did those towers just.. TILT?
If we ever get Silver Generations, I hope Iblis and/or Mephiles are the main villains.
He only playable one game
MEPHILES IS BACK! 🤩🤩🤩
0:55 dayum mephiles straight up try to spear shadow from behind - the same attack he killed sonic with
I hope we are all clear on shadow not knowing about the scepter of darkness and not knowing who mephiles is because 06 technically didn't actually happen
They did the impossible.
My only complaint is the VA change.
Who is voicing Mephiles? I think the direction is really cool, especially the yells and grunts
It's Robbie Daymond, the guy who voices Spider-Man a.k.a. Peter Parker in the Marvel Animated Universe.

Doesn't it feel strange that shadow doesn't remember mephiles and what he did in the past?
While the events of sonic 06 did happen when Solaris was defeated and Elise blew the flame out she changed the course of events and erased them from happening but since time in this game has become unstable the original events of time have been thrown into the mix. So it makes sense Shadow being thrown out of time doesn’t know who Mephiles as his memories of those events have been permanently lost as it seems
