    This is such a cute pattern! The construction method is giving me so many ideas, like adding a power mesh layer to the lining with elastic at the bottom to make a built-in shelf bra. Would be soooo good for a bathing suit!

      I have made a couple of these in the long sleeve version and absolutely love the pattern. I’m wondering if I wanted to make a tank out of this pattern would I just omit the sleeves and then do some kind of hem on the armstyce?

    • @debbyreithmeier581
      @debbyreithmeier581 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or since it’s lined, could I somehow take advantage of that to finish off the arm hole and then just saw the side seam up?

    I just found you on TH-cam and am so glad. The thing I really like about your videos, (the ones that I that I have watched and I am in the process of binge-watching), is that they are normal, natural, full of useful information, and homegrown. I use the word "homegrown" only in the best possible way. What I mean is that your personality shines through and this makes these videos incredibly watchable. I have made numerous iterations of the cozy Cardi, which get compliments all of the time and no one knows that they were homemade. I just watched your bucket hat sew-along. Your process of discovery, in terms of what you really wanted it to be was so gratifying to watch. Maybe gratifying is the wrong word, but to see you move ahead, make alterations in the pattern, discover what type of topstitching worked best, and do it in real time, that is what I mean by watchable. And having to redo the Birdie close collar! In this age of perfection, perfection, perfection, you are reflecting the reality of sewing. I really appreciate what you are doing. Today I will make your bucket hat pattern, and hopefully I can find the correct grommet applicator. The grommets really elevated your hat to the next level. It was a genius final step. As well as washing it. SO CUTE. So, thank you Casey. And this new pattern. So gorgeous! I will first try the comfi T but I see the Brigit in my future. The fact that you have added cup sizes makes these T's possible for me to wear. (: Thank you again. M

    I've made two trials and it's so easy to make, it takes very little time to sew using cheap fabric until I get that center front to not be too wide. (I have fitting anxiety.) I am dying to hack it into a simple dress. It is drafted very throughtfully, especially the c cup and larger having more ease in place of a dart. THANKS

    I got the pattern the moment I got the email that it came out, I love square neck everything!! I have the pieces cut and I'm about to start on construction, do you think clear elastic instead of the wonder tape would work as well? I love wonder tape how it helps things stay in place but wondered if the clear elastic would be a realistic alternative? Thank you for your videos and swealongs they are really helpful!

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! The wonder tape is just a temporary stabilizer (without it, some fabrics can get kinda over-stretched and wavy, especially rib knits). You might be able to forgo the stabilizer for some knits altogether, maybe do a test strip of fabric to see how it does. I tried using elastic in some early versions and wasn't super happy with the results, so that is not my fave. But it's worth a try if you like using it! Hope that helps! Thanks, again! :)

    • @daxxydog5777

      Spray starch can also help with temporary stabilization on knits (and on any floopy fabric - talking to you, georgette 😂).

    This looks like such a fantastic pattern! Thanks for doing a sewalong!
    Would wonder tape help with hemming knits? I just attempted my first knit garment - a pair of bike shorts using nylon spandex. To sew the hem, I folded up once and sewed from the inside so I could see the hem edge. I used my walking foot but the edge of the hem kept moving and shifting as I tried to sew it - it was so frustrating and it ended up uneven. Could I tape it down and then sew it? I'm a bit put off sewing with knits now but I am going to buy this pattern and hope for the best 🤞😉

      Definitely! Wonder tape would be great for hemming. It will keep everything in place and then wash away. :)

    I bought the pattern a week ago and plan to make it soon. Do you think it's easy enough to raise the front neckline a little?

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes I think so...I would just take from the shoulders the same amount you add to the front neckline 🙌

    Hey, please. I have a question. My measurements are putting me exactly between a 12c and 14.
    Even in finished garment measurements. Should I size up?
    Or down? What would you do??

      @PatternScout  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Vicki! I would go with the larger size to be safe! :)

    Would it be possible to double the front bodice pieces and sew them together to get the neckline in the front and the back? :)

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm...maybe! You would just need to modify the shoulder piece to attach front and back, but I think it is doable!

      I hope you love it! Yes, the bodice fit is based off the comfi tee, but the armscye and sleeve are slightly modified.

    I came here to see how to attach the two bodice pieces after I line them as I don’t feel it’s especially clear in the pattern & that isn’t included here. Anyone have any visual resources to help?

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once the linings are attached, they will be treated as one with their respective bodices. So the front and back bodice are sewn right sides together with the linings on the wrong side (finished interior) of the bodice pieces. The side seams of the bodice/lining are sewn in the same step as the sleeve seam (shown at 10:23 in the video). Hope that helps! Thanks for making the pattern! :)
