I like how the sinister repetitive melody, which represents The Eagle's theme was dominant throughout the song, showing that her hallucination drug was still dominant over Jin's mind and still trying to break his mental wellbeing. But as the song starts shifting to 2:32, Jin's triumphant theme starts to kick it, showing that The Eagle's hallucination drug was losing it's effect on him as he begun to finally let go of his past and move on from the guilt. It then shifts back to The Eagle's theme, since while Jin has defeated his inner demons, he still has to defeat her.
My favorite part is how when Jin holds up the Sakai blade, ready to strike down past Tenzo in his vision, and then he refuses (music stops), and comes to terms that he isn't at fault for his Father's death. Then it picks up again as he walks out of the vision, and stops the eagle from killing Tenzo, and the music picks up again. Truly amazing.
This is the one piece of music in this game that really stuck out to me like no other, all of it is superb but something went into this song with the setup, scenery, and story that just made it a masterpiece of a scene
This was the epitome of Jin’s story. All of his journey in the main story led to this moment. Him finally letting go of his guilt for not being able to save his father. And then him finally emerging anew as The Ghost, the sun rising on a new Lord Sakai, just like the actual sun rising above the horizons. Paired with the Ghost’s theme, but this time in a more heroic form and less melancholic tone in contrast to the main story’s more melancholic version of the theme. God I love this game. Ik people are divided on the fact that Jin isn’t the main character of the next Ghost anthology game but frankly, this was a beautiful pinnacle for his character arc.
