The anime is fine but you'll have a better experience reading the manga. The pacing and dialogue are universally agreed to be better baring one or two moments that are exceptions and the best part is that the English translations are released within a day or so of the Japanese.
I haven't watched the anime but the song is amazing! Your songs make up a lot of my playlist where I put all of the songs I really like, you have yet to disappoint me with your songs, I still think you should have more subs than you do right now.

You don't hear many people talking about one piece much due to seasonal anime and to many episodes for new watchers to want to start.
