Mike is out here living in the future!
The best mornings to get ready for work are the ones with an In Groove vinyl release video
Mike pronouncing “Patrice Rushen” correctly was not on my bingo card this morning!
😂
You seem happier Mike, glad to see. Enjoy running your business and don't worry about any of the disappointments life can have to offer. Providing well, being good at business is good enough for you.
What??
'Don't worry about any of the disappointments life has to offer?"
"Being good at business is good enough for you??"
Are you SERIOUS??
FUCK records and FUCK a record store.
I hope to fuck Mike doesn't listen to you incels...
Clean shaved and ready to mingle. Looking good, brother.
Oh yeah!
Kevin Gray cut 90125 and The Yes Album. Acoustic Sounds website is saying he will also cut the upcoming "Close to the Edge" 75th. Website also says that the upcoming "Fragile" Audiophile 75th will be cut by Chris Bellman. Kevin Gray though has a couple of different cuts of "Fragile" out there. To no ones surprise, they are outstanding.
The Linkin Park thing is just wierd... digital one step? Just a money making venture but maybe it will at least sound great
Hang in there boss 🙏
"Put a little horns on the record, everybody has a heart attack." I cracked up, haha. I need to give that album another shot. I admit I never cared for Touch Me, but not because of the horns. I might be going the AP route to complete my Doors section since even clean 70s pressings seem to be getting scarce.
He’s got a lot going on on, give the guy a break.
That is the beard of a newly single man!
People complaining about the LinkinPark One step, but I think this is one of the most important One Step’s. It opens the door for more modern / relevant titles to get “audiophile” treatment, instead of the traditional titles that get released as one steps. Linkin Park is far more exciting than all the same old stuff mofi always puts out.
Strongly agree. There's a much bigger market for digitally recorded music than analog at this point, especially when you are going to convert the analog to digital
Linkin Park is poo
Mike, DEATH MAGNETIC isn’t the best Metallica album, but it certainly wasn’t their worst, or even a bad one. There have been some DM staples on their recent/current live setlist. What sucked most about that album was the brick wall mastering. They need to remix and remaster JUSTICE and DM. A vinyl collecting friend of mine doesn’t like Metallica, EXCEPT of DM. Weird.
I remember hearing it when it came out, and the brick-walling was bad. But is it in the mix or was it added when the album was mastered for CD and download? Maybe the vinyl edition is spared.
And obviously the bass on Justice was just mixed so far down that mastering wouldn't help.
I’ve heard OG pressings of DM and it’s a wall of bricks. Not sure what stage of production that happened in, but it sucks. The four have a bad habit of saying, “well, we released it that way, so for better or worse, that’s the artifact.” So I don’t expect apt remixes from them. They’re totally recalcitrant about mixing JUSTICE, to the point of spiting their fans. If Floyd can offer fans an alternative ANIMALS mix, so too can Metallica offer an alternative JUSTICE mix. It’s a chance for new artwork, making a news splash, and cashing in on another release that they can press at their own plant. Seems like a no-brained to me. Yet, it is a brainer for them.
Just saw on FB that AP is doing a UHQR of Waltz for Debby and Sunday at the Village Vanguard.
13:00 although I did prefer the Charles Mingus "the clown" as a thumbnail. This one would have been a second best thumbnail. 👍😊
Mike you already look a thousand times better than that last live video! Beard nicely shaped up and hair trimmed, but you HAVE TO shave your head bald. Go all the way. Keep the beard. Angel liked you with the little hair you still have on your head. There’s a reason for that 😂. Trying to keep you down. Go BALD, keep the beard. The chicks love it. 😉
He's going for that "guess who" character look.
Richard I think his name is, google it 😂😂😂😂
@@crazyprayingmantis5596😂
@@Groover71
Tell me you googled it 😄
Will Clark looks just like Bill from King of the Hill
Many thanks Mike✌️
Ramsey Lewis “The Groover” just came to mind… 😎
July?
Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina Colega !
Some of the sources used on the 24 Karat Hits AP aren't the best. The 50s songs are definitely from inferior tapes.
Brincos dieras
Great job, aloha
In regard to Death Magnetic....I know the original Warner Bros vinyl release and the original Blackened vinyl release are cut by Kevin Gray
10:30 lolio 🤣
I read online the Linkin Park albums were recorded digitally, then transferred to tape. The tapes are what were used for the 192/24 digital files used to cut the One Steps.
Linkin Park one step 🤣🤣🤣
Why add the additional two steps, I wonder? If they were cutting from the tape to analog that would come closer to making sense for me. The method you mention doesn't make sense to me but I'm not an audio engineer.
@@tubinonyou I think, given when at least the first album was being made, a lot of artists used tape to back up their digital master, for fear it would be lost. It was the early 2000s, and digital recording was just becoming the new thing.
And the One Step process refers to how the lacquers are cut, not the mastering chain. If the question is why use the analog tape to make a 192/24 copy to cut from, your guess is as good as mine. I’m not interested in these titles, but I did find it interesting they chose those albums.
@@nothingimportant4504 Right on. Thanks for pointing out the 'step' refers to lacquer-cutting as opposed to mastering chain. This has always confused me. Still stumped on why they chose an analog copy of the digital master transferred to digital yet again as opposed to going Digital>Analog one time. Thanks for the info. It's fascinating to me.
I might have to jump on one of those Doors albums!
8:31 : should be Rateliff, not Ratcliff
Counting down the days til July 28th
