That type of question is inviting controversy, strife, and division. Otis Williams asked Leon personally to portray him in the movie, and Robert Townsend is a personal friend who also cast him in a classic movie. Why would Vlad pose that typpe of question to Leon, of all possible things to ask. That's like asking Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, aka "Cochise", which movie had better production, "Claudine" or "Cooley High". It also downplays some of the obstacles and budget issues that urban directors, and producers faced. Leon did well to be vague, and somewhat elusive at times during the interview. Check it Out! Don't forget how David Ruffin's life ended. Our people are still suffering that fate but now it is everywhere. And thanks to this young man for his part in what I consider one of the greatest and heartbreaking stories of all time. Temptations Forever!

Leon was great in both roles, but as David Ruffin, he stole the show, so smooth!. I'm orig. from Detroit and back in the day saw David driving down the road in a green 2-seater convertible w/his trademark glasses. I was driving the opposite dir. or I would've tried to follow. When I started screaming, he laughed and blew me a kiss!

I started liking the Temptations' music because of the movie, I'm an 80s baby. Five Heartbeats was my fav movie & now when I watch it I laugh but still both are my top 2. I watch both frequently since they came out. Was just watching them both this week, twice 😂
