I think that Disney should maybe bring S.E.A and L.O.A more to the spotlight instead of hiding it more then they normally do. I think with the new show coming out we will see more of these themes in the parks.

I think they could do the treasure hunt like Pirates of the Caribbean but for SEA. So you could win some details about it. Or maybe a little store with shirts and stuff.
I really hope there's more Atlantis representation in the parks eventually ❤️

Speaking from experience, the Shanghai Camp Discovery high ropes course was awesome! I too think it would be a fun addition to US parks (replacing the Tarzan and/or Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse(s)?), but good luck convincing Disney Legal.
I can confirm that the one gentleman’s name is spelled like a German name, which would make his name intended to be pronounced “Ollie Oxenfree”
The vowel grouping 'ei' in German is pronounced long 'i' as in "Oxenfry" as opposed to ie which is long 'e.' Frei is free in German, so it works out. Disney being a little bit clever there. :-)
Bruh! You filled in a big gap! My wife and I knew there was lore behind the LOA when we saw it on the newspaper on everest. However, when I was asked about it, I had no clue what/who they were!

Wow, this is all new to me! I'm so excited to see more of this, especially knowing the atlantis man was involved.
I was at Shanghai DL a few years ago, spent some lovely time in adventure isle and did not Notice any copious mascot use of Q'arok. Then again, that area in my mind was just "Soarin' Land." feat. some cool waterfalls
Anyway, I literally also did not know about the League, I'm sure if I'd known to keep an eye out I would have noticed it but obviously the same would go for SEA for most people if they didn't have a heads up. I can't speak for park fans in mainland China, though - It may be closer to SEA in terms of notability within fan spaces than I give it credit for...?
In general, Shanghai DL is much more for Chinese tourists than for international tourists, so we don't get a lot of info about it over here because the park is not bilingual in the way euro disney or even tokyo disney seem to be - I watched the scarce other white folks who visited the same days as me struggle a LOT with Chinese, and even in Guest Services there wasn't anyone able to translate on those days - The park is just not necessarily meant for English Speakers as its target demographic (and this is not a bad thing). It just means the international tourists who don't speak mandarin can't ask for the front row of TRON without a coincidental helper who speaks English that finds them in the line (Me. I had fun with this. I went on TRON literally over a dozen times in a day)
This said, it's a bit of a shame, because we don't get to see too much content made about it over here from Disney youtubers. I'm certain there's a possible collab there, but as far as I know it hasn't been done to scale.
I'd like to think LOA is more a competitor to SEA. But it would make sense they would also help each other out

I've been there before and it is absolutely gorgeous.
Unfortunately I've never been on the standard PotC, so I can't really compare the two.
@@LeNimph I had anticipated this being a problem before I visited SHDL, and I went in mentally comparing it to every Disney ride in the states I'd ever been on, but actually, the screens are really not as noticeable in real life as they are on camera - The water at the boat level fades into the screens really well, the boats moving in tandem with the decent CG on screen makes a pretty believable experience, and there are rarely rooms that have ONLY screens and NO practical effects (aside from, in my memory, an inbetween room that represented the change from underwater to above water, which made sense to me, since the practical effects for underwater and above it are pretty different)

Hint: Though I don't know the etymology of the tale, The feller's name comes from a signal we, as kids, all yelled when we reached the safe zone while playing 'Hide and Seek', "Ollie Ollie Oxenfree"! Which I always thought meant "I, as an Ox, am now free"! This feller's moniker (LoA Member #4) now sheds a complete and ponderous shadow over that practice and my assumption as to how I chose to spell it and conceive of it. "Oh bother", said Pooh!

Think you covered all the lore behind the LoA. I love the Adventure Isle and especially Camp Discovery, it would be a great fit in Animal Kingdom. I hope to visit Shanghai Disneyland in the next couple of months, so I'll sure be on the lookout for any other LoA stuff.
i went to shanghai disneyland a lot of times already, adventure isle is my favorite themeland there !! I love that disney makes the S.E.A. storyline bigger and bigger internationally across all their parks cuz its just such a great story. i once even heard from "mickey radio" played at a mickey avenue restaurant background saying "mickey mouse and the mickey firefighters went to put off a fire at Roaring Mountain this morning as a piece of news lol
Quickly skimmed through the comments and didn't see it mentioned, but Lake Baikal has a history of supernatural events including but not limited to USO (unidentified submerged object), glowing orbs, Bermuda Triangle-like phenomena and a lost race of amphibian giants. With this in mind, it makes complete sense that a diving bell would be used to try to explore it and get to the bottom of its secrets!
As someone else said, just when we think we have all the info of Disney park lore, Dallin always comes back with even more lore dumps and I am not upset at all.
If you know the rough numbers, could you make a vid about the rate of Americans going to the other international parks? I really want to go on a Disney around the world trip, but I don't know how doable that is. Like I know most, if not all, the signs have English on them, but it'd be really helpful.

I think Adventureland at Disney should be rethemed to the original SEA, and the entirety of California Adventure (though they probably wouldn’t include Pixar pier or marvel land) into a “Modern” SEA, An SEA The Next Generation, if you will. Heck it would even be cool if they made Tomorrowland themed around the SEA of Tomorrow, explorers of the future.
Kind of like Port Discovery, or Discoveryland? Count me in!

It'd be cool if they could pull in futuristic explorers and adventurers into S.E.A. for Tomorrowland connections. Maybe Buzz Lightyear? ALSO: Every dance with the Disco Yetti or Disco DIno in the pale moonlight?

I’m really surprised you haven’t done a video about Vacation planning videos in the form of DVDs or VHS tapes. I feel like it used to be a big part of the build up to a trip, and probably was the precursor to watch Disney TH-cam videos!
I think you need to spend a night in the Adventureland suite at the Disneyland hotel so you can do more investigating on all the things.
It will be a long time before any of us get to go to Shanghai Disney. I've spent a lot of time in Shanghai (not Disney sadly), and it's a great city. Shame we are where we are with the World.

The Q'araq was still functioning in March when I visited there (Now the park is closed until July due to COVID situations). The animatronic does shut down from time to time for maintenance though. I think it won't become a disco Q'araq anytime soon, but who knows what happens in the future...

I was under the impression that while SEA was the "Lawful Good" version, LoA was more of the Criminal, or at least not as honest, version.

Thank you I have never herd of Disney League of Adventurers. But seeing how Disney is talking about doing Society of Explorers and Adventurers television series maybe League of Adventurers could be an another rival group.
I still don't understand why they didn't just tie it all back to the S.E.A., and instead invented these new guys. But I'm sure it'll make more sense down the line. =)

Not Disney, but clearly SEA inspired; at Europa Park a host of attractions are connected via the Adventure Club of Europe (ACE). Might be interested to dive into that for a video.
