You have quenched my curiosity as to how they treat women, its sad that we have( black women as a whole) to behave dominant in order to protect our feminity. For anyone planning on making a Trip to Nigeria it is important that you know someone there, just like she said. I lived in Port Harcourt a little over a Year. When i get off the plane everyone has their hand out asking for money. No lie i'm not even exaggerating. I'm coming all the way from Cali and I tell them it's not easy for Black Folks in California and I'm definitely not Rich. Even when I was leaving they were asking for money like i was Bank of America... The roads are not great in Nigeria. Also the Electricity is not steady. I went 30 days without Electricity in Port Harcourt, but in Lagos the Electricity seem to stay on longer there. I mean it will stay on for 12 hours straight and cut off for about an hour or two and come right back on for like 8 hours. Port Harcourt, the longest it ever stayed on straight out there was 6 Hours then it will go off for about 2 to 3 days before it comes back on... Also you have to negotiate everything just about in Nigeria. The only thing i like is how the food is Fresh and the food is good and healthy as well. Because of the Humidity you will lose weight easily especially eating their food. Also they do not cook their BEEF real tender they like it tough and well done, like you will lose a tooth biting down on their Beef and Goat meat.. Well if you want to know more just ask. Because the Poverty is Great in Nigeria.
Agreed, they can always take long weekends in Lagos for the vibe and the scene. Unless they are coming from a stressful places like NY etc it my be too steep of a learning curve. I'm biased though.
I think this video is more for people who wish to move or live in Lagos not Nigeria as a whole. I see a lot of generalisations. You dont have to behave crazy to live in Nigeria except for lagos. Most Nigerian generally see lagosians as crazy people. As a Nigerian living in Nigeria, I cant stand Lagos. Its too stressful and crazy. I remember when I was preparing for a professional exam and some colleagues came from lagos and they were asking if they had to wake up at 4am to be at the venue for the exams, those of us living in Abuja had to explain to them that Abuja is not like that. I cant imagine leaving home at 4am to be at a functon that was slated for 10am. That is the definition of crazy and no wonder most Lagosians are crazy. For anyone who has lived abroad and wishes to live in Nigeria, Abuja is the place for you. Some people suggest Jos too but I cant say much about it, because I have not lived there.

Even when my cousin cousin from Abuja came for visit and we had to go somewhere and catch the bus....home girl was walking to slowly and taking her time. I'm like girl, I don't know where you think you are, but this is Lagos you have to hurry up😂😂😂. So sad and crazy at the same time.

Lagos is particularly rough. I have suffered in that place. You really need a good support system and an inner circle that truly love you. Most people just want something .Even with all their smiles it ends up being about them. There is no kindness.

You nailed it 100%. This is a good description of life in Lagos. To be honest, even some of us in Nigeria can't live in Lagos. The life is too rough for me. I was born and grew up in Jos, Plateau state. I can't stand the hustle and bustle of Lagos life. I will rather live in Jos or Abuja.
We're together in this, was born and brought up in Jos also. That lagos was an entire different country for me when I stayed there. It's easier if you're wealthy.

And the mistake a lot of people make is when they visit Lagos from the abroad and have bitter experiences, they will generalise and say 'Nigeria is this and that' forgetting Lagos though the commercial capital of the country, is not a representative of a country of 36 states with 200+ million people, with different cultures and ways of living. My simple advice is if you are moving from abroad to Nigeria and don't like the stress and hustle and bustle of a cosmopolitan city, Lagos is definitely not the best place for you because you will be frustrated 😤.

Most capital cities or big cities worldwide are more hectic than other parts of the country. It is not a reflection of the country as a whole or people as a whole. I live in the UK and depending upon what city or town I visit, my experience is always different.

U don't have to be loud or aggressive to be a Nigerian, only Lagosians do those things. Try living in Abuja and u will see the calm ones, where u don't shout to pass a point!..... Yea Nigerians can be crazy sometimes but we also have a lot of them that are calm as well. PS: the police response in central Abuja is quite impressive.

Hi this was so interesting for me . I’m planning on also moving to Lagos sometime in the future with my husband ( Igbo ) and 2 young sons . I’m quite the opposite of strong 💪 etc so I will just follow my husband ‘s instructions on everything when I’m there . Luckily I can often visit Cape Town while living there and really excited about that !( I’m South African) . So I hope it can be a fun new life .

Doing NYSC is soft landing for returning to Nigeria. You get to meet other returnees at their honest level, no excess pretense. I did it on my return and most of the contacts I have to date are from NYSC.
Very informative. I'm inquiring about dual citizenship. I have traveled for the past 3 years and I believe I will be fine to live there. U don't have to be loud or aggressive to be a Nigerian, only Lagosians do those things. Try living in Abuja and u will see the calm ones, where u don't shout to pass a point!..... Yea Nigerians can be crazy sometimes but we also have a lot of them that are calm as well.
PS: the police response in central Abuja is quite impressive.
Try living with the Edos then you will know that Lagosians are way calmer.

Hi this was so interesting for me . I’m planning on also moving to Lagos sometime in the future with my husband ( Igbo ) and 2 young sons . I’m quite the opposite of strong 💪 etc so I will just follow my husband ‘s instructions on everything when I’m there . Luckily I can often visit Cape Town while living there and really excited about that !( I’m South African) . So I hope it can be a fun new life .

Doing NYSC is soft landing for returning to Nigeria. You get to meet other returnees at their honest level, no excess pretense. I did it on my return and most of the contacts I have to date are from NYSC.
